ABOUT FRENCH CONNECTION
Founded in London in 1972, French Connection is sexy, stylish and has attitude. FCUK is a short, sharp name to stand for French Connection United Kingdom which has become a highly recognisable name and acronym to stand alongside the French Connection logo.
Launching in Australia in 1998, we never fail to keep the brand exciting and original, pushing boundaries and always making a statement.
Whether FCUK has shocked or amused, it certainly made you think. Bold, witty and intelligent, French Connection’s approach to fashion has made it stand out amongst today’s high street.
In the non-stop world of fashion it takes dynamism and intuition to keep moving and we are constantly developing our product, our market and our vision of the future just keeps on growing.
As we expand the brand in the Australian and New Zealand market we continue to develop exclusive product that is relevant to the needs of our customer.
The key to French Connection’s success continues to be the combination of exceptional clothes at the forefront of design, affordable prices, clever merchandising and sound business practice that celebrate our distinct British heritage.
French Connection (FCUK) is an edgy attitudinal British brand.
Company Overview Founded in 1972 by Stephen Marks, French Connection, the edgy, attitudinal, high street British fashion brand set out to create well-designed and fashion-forward clothing with a quirky spin on design. With more than 1,500 outlets across 25 countries worldwide, French Connection is truly a global fashion brand.
Brand Marketing India (BMI), the exclusive licensee for French Connection in India, introduced the brand to the Indian market at the Lakme Fashion Week in April 2007 and has since opened 26 points of sale across 8 cities.
BMI has ensured that the brand in India emulates the same global strategy with respect to timely seasonal launches, competitive pricing and the highest standards of in-store service.
THE STORES Stores across the globe are designed to be a true extension of the brand whilst being relevant to their local surrounding, so all elements including staff and store design work together to create a shopping environment which is all part of the French Connection experience.
Retaining the clean, minimalist simple signature look that French Connection has made its own, the stores provide an environment where the product takes centre stage. Advertising forms an integral part of the environmental concept in store and large graphics form the backdrop for many of the fittings and fixtures.

HEAD TURNING WINDOWS The French Connection windows are crucial to the branding of our product; they reflect our pioneering imaginative design and irreverent attitude. The windows reflect all that’s best about the brand, its attitude and style whilst acting as a showcase for the collection.
Throughout the season windows work in conjunction with the ever evolving fashion collections and the advertising campaign, interpreting the themes into award winning window displays. These themes are implemented globally across the brand so you will see a consistent brand message from London to New York to Sydney.
Past campaigns have included building a fully functioning radio station into the windows of our London Regent Street store from which FCUK FM was broadcast, models surfing, camper vans rocking and denim clad Santas frolicking. Whether French Connection or FCUK, our windows get noticed.

FCUK is a short, sharp name to stand for French Connection United Kingdom and was being used on faxes between our offices in the UK and Hong Kong (FCHK) before being introduced across the company as a highly recognisable name and acronym to stand alongside the French Connection logo.
A simple advertising campaign launched FCUK onto the British High Street in the spring of ’97 and has since evolved to personify the casual wear offering of the French Connection brand. A controversial ad campaign featuring the simple line ‘fcuk fashion’ hit the headlines and when ‘fcuk advertising’ followed hot on its heels the attitude of the brand was established.

WASH GUIDE AND AFTER CARE
We test our garments to ensure their beautiful appearance is maintained after cleaning and the care label is designed to help you look after your garments in the best way possible.
GENERAL CARE There will be natural colour loss during wear and washing with garment dyed products. To reduce colour loss, wash and dry garment inside out. Care must be taken to avoid colour rub onto light coloured fabrics and upholstery Care should be taken when wearing, storing and cleaning delicate fabrics to avoid snagging or damage to the garment. Please remove jewellery before trying on For dark coloured garments, please avoid contact with light coloured fabrics and upholstery as there may be some colour rub For light coloured garments, please avoid contact with dark coloured fabrics and upholstery as there may be some colour rub Fringing can get tangled in the washing machine, so always hand wash Linen garments are made with beautifully textured yarn to give luxurious worn look. The nature and characteristic of linen fabric has slub flaws. Always follow recommended care instructions
WASHING 1. To keep the garment looking its best, always follow the instructions on the care label. 2. Separate your wash into whites, darks and colours to reduce the risk of colours running. 3. Wash garments with contrast trims or panels separately, the fabrics have been designed to be washed together but may absorb dye from other garments – especially important for Black and White. 4. You can scorch, ‘glaze’ or even melt your clothes if you use the wrong setting so make sure you check the guide specific to your iron.
ACCESSORIES 1. Do not overload your bag, this can put too much strain on the handles and seams of the bag. It can also distort the shape of the bag. 2. Take care of your hat. Scrunching it up, stuffing it in your bag or sitting on it will probably alter the shape! 3. Use a lint roller to clean felt hats. 4. Feathers are a natural product and care should be taken with them to prolong their life. If they get wet allow to dry naturally.
AFTER CARE FOR SHOES 1.We don’t offer a fitting service, so make sure the shoes fit you well in store. If you’re unsure when you get home, always try your shoes on carpeted surface. We cannot accept worn returns. 2. Our trainers and canvas products, unless we advise you, are not designed to go in a washing machine. If they get dirty let them dry naturally and remove excess dirt with a brush or cloth. Then use a specific fabric cleaner. 3. If you get caught in the rain, allow your leather product to dry naturally. You run the risk of the leather warping if direct heat is used. Stuff with newspaper to help speed up the process and maintain shape. 4. Suede and nubuck are sensitive materials and don’t take kindly to oils or creams. Invest in a suede brush and give them a little attention from time to time to keep the nap (texture) raised and looking fresh. 5. Insole socks on sandals may lift due to heat and perspiration. Though we use strong adhesive, this is sometimes unavoidable in normal wear. 6. The plastic or leather pieces at the base of the heel are designed to protect the heel and need to be replaced with wear. Replacement top pieces are supplied with most of our shoes and are easily fitted by a local cobbler. 7. Repair is not always possible if your top pieces wear down to the point that the heel becomes damaged. 8. Baby wipes work wonders on reviving dirty white leather and PU shoes, always test on a small discrete area first. 9. Scuffing can damage and remove beading and gems on embellished products. 10. Espadrilles are traditional beach shoes and are not designed for prolonged city wear or wet weather as the natural materials will perish.
