Just Myotherapy has been operating since 2010. We are passionate about our treatments and always aim to offer the highest quality health care to every patient.
Shelley Placek has been a qualified Myotherapist since 2007.
She is very interested in both the health and sporting industries and as a Myotherapist is very happy to combine the two together. Shelley has great experience and produces excellent results treating a variety of soft tissue injuries and chronic pains. After completing an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy she has been demonstrating her skills in the following environments:
– Melbourne Football Club AFL (from 2008) – FINA Swimming championships 2007 – Various other sporting club associations and myotherapy clinics.
Shelley enjoys treating people from all walks of life and is enjoying helping people in the South Morang and surrounding areas.
Abby has been a myotherapist since 2008.
She has also completed her certificate 4 in Personal Training which benifits her knowledge and expertise in prescribing rehab exercises.

Soft tissue, remedial massage
Targets muscle tension or chronic pain by manipulating the soft tissues of the body for a specific therapeutic effect, rather than a general therapeutic effect. Combines techniques according to client needs.
Myofascial dry needling
Myofascial dry needling is a therapy that has been adapted from acupuncture in that it uses fine needles applied to the musculoskeletal system in order to deactivate myofascial trigger points.
Thermal therapy
Beneficial for arthritis, stiff muscles and deep tissue injuries. Therapeutic effects decrease joint stiffness, reducing pain, muscle spasms, inflammation, oedema and increases blood flow for better healing.
Joint mobilisation
Manual therapy intervention, a type of passive movement of a skeletal joint. Usually aimed at a target joint with the aim of achieving a therapeutic effect.
Myofascial stretching
Self-treatment technique that results in permanent re-lengthening of shortened, bound-down connective tissue and has the capacity to dramatically improve health and quality of life.
Corrective and rehabilitative
A treatment or treatments designed to facilitate the process of recovery from injury, illness, or disease to as normal a condition as possible.
