About our Business
As our passion at You Relax is to make a diference, we actively promote and sponsor various charities and community organisations, both local and international. Part of that includes inviting our clients to make a $15 donation direct to our Charity of the Month. In exchange, clients will receive $10 off our full price of massages for the rest of that month
We invite our clients to recommend or suggest a chairity or organisation that they would like to see benefit from our Charity of the Month program. This is exclusively for our clients to do, and no unsolicited requests from non-clients will be accepted.
We also supply and sell a number of quality products and services we believe will enhance your massage experience from us, with some items sold driving more dollars to the charity of the month. Swedish (Relaxation) Massage – is a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish Massage, also know as Relaxtation Massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It is also the most commonly found style of massage practised.
Therapeutic Massage – is basically any massage with a purpose, and this term incorporates many different massage modalities. Deep Tissue Massage – focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres.
Remedial Massage – works to heat muscles and tendons that are damaged, impaired or knotted. It holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort back to the original cause. It uses specialised techniques to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms. The massage is applied directly to the skin usually with an oil lubricant. Passive stretching moves are also employed.
Sports Massage – developed especially for athletes who need to quickly alleviate stress or injury, sports massage can help an athlete prepare for competition, support their bodies during an event and help them to recover afterwards. While pinpointing target areas that may be related to sports such as running, tennis or golf, sports massage can also help anyone suffering chronic pain, or motion-based injury.
Connective Tissue Massage – this technique is connected to the Myofascial release technique, and does not involve the use of oil or lotion. It can relieve chronic tension, improve posture and relieve painful symptoms of chronic diseases such as Arthritis, Tendonitis, TMJ and Sciatica.
Hot Stone Massage – aids the client to experience deep relaxation. The therapist places heated basalt stones on the body’s acupressure points. A series of Swedish Massage style techniques is used with the therapist holding smooth stones and applying essential oils to work away muscle tension.
Shiatsu Massage – (shi meaning finger and atsu meaning pressure) is a type of alternative medicine consisting of finger and palm pressure, stretches, and other massage techniques. Similiar to this is Deep Ischemic Pressure (DIP). Pressure is applied to a certain part of the muscle, stretching it and helping it to reset (de-knot) itself. This is bascially Trigger Point Work. Often a distinct crunch or click may be felt when pressure is applied to the right area.
Cuppping – is an ancient Chinese therapy in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (either by heat or suction) in order to draw and hold skin and superficial muscles inside the cup. Sometimes, while the suction is active, the cup is moved, causing the skin to be pulled. This is called gliding cupping.
“I love going to see Alex. During a very stressful time Alex gave me some great tools to relax more as well as giving a great massage. Thank you Alex. I will be back very soon given all my training.”
“Had my first massage with Alex today and will definitely been going back! Alex was professional and informative, giving me some tips for ways to reduce my stiff shoulder and neck muscles from sitting at a desk all day. Left feeling really good and super relaxed but also like my muscles had been given great attention. Thanks Alex, can’t wait for my next massage.”
“Alex’s professional mannerism was exceptional. Unlike many other massage therapists, Alex went above and beyond, treating more then just my presenting symptoms. Upon walking out my original aches and pains were resolved. Alex not only provided a massage, but advised and taught me simple stretches in order to prevent similar reoccurrences. I train for 2 hours, 6 days a week in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and compete at an international level, therefore I am grateful to have found Alex, to keep me in great shape!”
“Alex is an excellent masseur, he is attentive to your needs and will help release any stiff muscles. If you are looking for a good massage with professional hands I recommend Alex highly. The affordable price and amazing flexibility are just a bonus! I love yourelaxmassage so much that I come back every week for more:)”
“I booked in a massage because I had finally had enough with the pain that was coming from my neck, shoulders and back. Alex spent a great deal of time working on my problem areas and trying to alleviate the pressure and tension from the muscles. I walked out feeling refreshed and with a much lower pain level then I had when I walked in. I will most definitely book in for another session!!!”
