Tim Davis Managing Director & CEO
Tim brings to the team over 25 years of accounting, taxation and commercial experience with private clients and small to medium sized businesses.
Tim is passionate about the people behind the numbers, and enjoys helping his clients achieve their business and personal financial goals. From time to time, he has fulfilled roles as contract CEO / CFO in a client’s business to directly steer them on track to deliver profit and other key targets.
With a wealth of experience across a diverse range of commercial fields, Tim is sought after for his business and commercial advice. He also has specialist skills in facilitating complex business transactions (that is, sales / purchases / business mergers) as well as client engagements in the leadership / planning / strategic direction and vision space.
Tim is a Chartered Accountant, and has an Accounting Degree from the UQ.
Shona Sherman Director of Superannuation; Practice Manager
Shona was awarded a Bachelor of Business with an Accounting Major and Wealth Management and Superannuation Minor from Queensland University of Technology. She is a registered tax agent, a Fellow of the Tax Institute and has completed several subjects towards a Master of Taxation with Curtin University.
Shona has specialised in Superannuation and Self-Managed Superannuation since 2009, and became a Director of HFB Super in July of 2014. Her experience and qualifications give her a comprehensive understanding of the Australian tax and superannuation laws, which allows her to provide professional strategic advice to her valued clients.
Shona has completed post-graduate studies to meet the competency requirements under ASIC’s RG146, and is authorised to provide financial product advice on Self-Managed Super Funds, such as the establishment of your Self-Managed Super Fund; providing advice on contribution and pension strategies; and limited recourse borrowing arrangements.
Shona lives locally, and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family, catching up with friends, watching sport and travelling. Shona supports various local community groups, and is a volunteer for MS Queensland.
Terry Ford Director of Accounting
Terry has been with Howe Ford & Boxer for over forty years. He has high levels of expertise and knowledge across a diverse range of business types and sectors.
He is highly qualified, holding a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy); a Graduate Diploma in Australian Institute of Company Directors; a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance; a Post Graduate of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds; and a Proper Authority Holder Financial Services.
He is also a registered tax agent, a registered company auditor, an accredited SMSF Auditor, and a member of several professional organisations such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He lives in the Redlands and has over 20 years of supporting the local community, including acting as Chairman/Treasurer for a range of not-for-profit organisations.
Chris Jones Director of Financial Planning
Chris has over 16 years experience in Financial Planning. He is passionate about providing quality financial planning advice whilst at the same time building and maintaining long lasting relationships with clients at all stages in life.
He specialises in providing financial advice in the areas of investments, portfolio construction & management, superannuation (including SMSF), retirement planning, personal insurance and margin lending.
Chris’ qualifications include a Diploma of Financial Planning, Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, Self-Managed Superannuation Fund and Margin Lending certificates and meets the competency requirements under ASIC’s Regulatory Guide RG 146. He is an Authorised Representative of Capstone Financial Planning Pty Ltd.
Chris lives locally and in his spare time enjoys catching up with family & friends, bushwalking, travelling and watching sports. He is a keen supporter of his boyhood soccer team, Liverpool FC. Samantha Sheriff Senior Associate
Samantha is a Chartered Accountant and registered Tax Agent.
Her first-hand experience of running a small business is useful in assisting small business owners with their own business management and tax compliance.
Samantha also has extensive experience with self-managed super funds and has completed a number of components towards a Diploma of Financial Services.
Desley Hodgson Senior Accountant
Bachelor of Business (Accounting) – University of Southern Qld
Desley has been in the accounting and tax profession for over 30 years. She takes pleasure in getting to know clients, listening to their goals and helping to achieve them in a friendly and helpful manner.
Her interests include gardening, renovating, tennis, watching footy and listening to music.
Wendy Hanley Senior Accountant; Auditor Bachelor of Business (Accounting) – QUT
Wendy has been member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for over 30 years. Her background is in Accounting & Taxation, but her current focus is Audit, with experience in auditing public companies, not-for-profit organisations, & trust accounts.
Wendy is actively involved in her local church and enjoys singing, reading, cryptic crosswords and killer sudokus.
Jodi McKenna Senior Accountant Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Business Law) – Griffith University
Jodi joined the team at Howe Ford and Boxer in 2009.
Outside work, Jodi enjoys the adventures and chaos that comes with raising three busy children with her husband Bill, as well as walking, and a good wine. The Leukaemia Foundation Qld holds a special place in Jodi’s heart, and she supports their fund raising activities.
Adrian Murphy Senior Accountant Bachelor of Business (Accounting) – QUT Graduate Diploma (ICAA)
Adrian has over 15 years’ experience working as a chartered accountant with small businesses.
In his spare time, Adrian organises and displays in LEGO exhibitions, bushwalking and travelling.
Cheryl Bradford Accountant Cheryl has over 40 years experience in accounting and tax, in both professional and private business sectors.
She is also experienced in managing small business offices, payroll, accounting software, and writing office and accounting procedure manuals.
Cheryl has lived in the Redlands since 1976, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, puzzles and travelling.
Charmaine Lilley Accountant Diploma Commerce – Lincoln University Certification – Xero accounting
Charmaine joined our team in November 2015.
Charmaine has over 10 years previous experience within accounting practices and has worked with a variety of entities.
In her spare time Charmaine spends time with her family, and makes the most of the Queensland weather.
Lauren Smith SMSF Accountant Lauren is currently studying for a Bachelor of Business with the University of Southern Queensland.
She has worked in the superannuation industry for 6 years, initially with a public offer industry fund, before moving to the SMSF space when she joined our Howe Ford & Boxer in September 2014.
In her spare time Lauren enjoys time with her family, reading and painting.
Helaine Dunnett Receptionist Helaine has worked in administration for 45 years. She thoroughly enjoys meeting and greeting Howe Ford & Boxer clients and has been a member of the HFB team for 12 years.
Helaine lives locally and she and her family have enjoyed a life of sports in the Redlands. She is a Life Member of Guides and Scouts Redlands Revue.
Emily Banks Admin. Team Leader Emily has been with Howe Ford & Boxer for over 15 years.
A proud Redlands resident, she enjoys the ‘Bayside’ lifestyle, regularly taking holidays on Straddie, camping and watersports.
Most of Emily’s spare time is taken up with her husband, four children and volunteer work in the local community.
Karen Eagle Administration Karen worked in Accountancy firms for over 20 years before joining our team in early 2016.
She enjoys a busy lifestyle and has a special interest in Basketball – donating much of her spare time to the Redlands PCYC. On her quiet days she enjoys having BBQ’s, catching up with latest movies, & watching sport.
Rebecca Sutherland Corporate Admin. Manager Rebecca’s role includes Corporate Administration, ATO Liaison and Australian Business Register Liaison. Her network of contacts enables her to provide a comprehensive administrative service to all clients.
Rebecca is a Bayside resident and enjoys boating, breakfast on Peel Island & time with family and friends.
Alison Pearce Client Liaison Officer Alison has over 15 years’ experience in finance administration.
Alison has excelled in client engagement and prides herself in interacting with our clients to achieve client satisfaction.
She lives in the Redlands, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being involved in her children’s schooling activities.
Helen Dundon SMSF Administration Helen supports Shona Sherman in our Superannuation Team.
Raised on a Poultry Farm in Redland Bay, Helen continues to call Redland Bay her home.
She enjoys Sunday roasts with family, motorbike riding on the family farm, and catching up with friends for a beer.
