I started a mature age apprenticeship in March 2009. I was married and already had 2 children but wanted to follow my dream of becoming a hairdresser.
I studied through Poly Technic West and worked at a high end salon in Scarborough (Calais Hair and Beauty).
I was signed off from my apprenticeship early as I was a keen learner and progressed quickly. I believe this is because I have a passion for the job and learning!
I was fortunate enough to receive training from lots of different senior hairdressers who have worked and trained internationally as well as within Australia.
I continued to work in Scarborough as a Senior Stylist until February 2013. I left the salon to work in my home based hair salon so I could be home to care for my daughter who was struggling with her health. My home business boomed! Whilst working at home I continued to put myself through training courses to keep up to date and involved in the ever changing industry.
During this time I completed an advanced women’s cutting course, a barbering course and various colour courses. I decided to expand my business Xtreme Hair and bought the salon I am now in, in Joondalup,  taking my existing clientele there in March 2016.
