“Charged a fortune and botched the job…hair came out basketball orange and then made me pay to fix it…went twice because I thought I’d given them the benefit of the doubt and they did it AGAIN!!! Bit the bullet and now do my own hair colour and save a fortune.
Staff were also quite rude, rolling of the eyes was prevalent as was huffing when I asked questions about how they were fixing it.”

I’m embarrassed at having to ask beforehand how much a particular servise is going to cost, but I get a bit of a shock when presented with the bill! For this reason, I don’t go as often as I should.”
“You always get good haircuts here. It is a popular salon and you have to book ahead. They are average priced for haircuts in Berwick which are all pretty expensive. $45 for cut only”
“I was a patron of Stylemakers for years before something happened that would cause me to never ever return. I regularly had blonde foils done in my hair for about a year or so. One appointment proved to be quite unexpected when, after being rushed into the chair, passed off to an intern whilst my regular hairdresser juggled 3 clients at the one time, had my foils put in only to immediately feel them begin to heat up. When I complained about the heat they told me it was normal and that all foils get a little warm. It was not until smoke started coming from beneath the foils that I knew something was wrong. I yelled out and was ignored. My friend was with me at the time and rushed over to the pull the foils from my hair. Only then was I noticed. They quickly pulled the rest of the foils from my hair and proceeded to wash and dry it. After this ordeal, they proceeded to blame me for this incident. I was told that I must have been using pantene in my hair which apparently heats and sparks the bleach. I told them no, I use a shampoo and conditioner sold to me by their salon. They were stumped and proceeded to tell me that I would still have to pay, despite the fact that my skull was now burned and blistering. In a bid to earn more money they would book their hairdressers with multiple clients at the same time. This resulted in my dye being mixed by a new intern who used too much chemicals. I do not blame my hairdresser, who has since left the salon. I blame the management who should have been looking out for their staff and who most certainly should not have tried to place the blame on my shoulders. My hair is still recovering and may never go back to how it used to be.”
