“NEVER have I had such a horrendous experience as this!!!! I asked for a cut and style. I was placed in a chair. I suggested for a style cut an shampoo first would be be nice… (it had been a 36 degree day and my hair was full of product and sweat) They took me to the sink where the stylist(???) and I chatted. Back in the chair stylist asked what I wanted. I explained in several ways…full on top, tapered, cut into etc (all terms used by my previous hairstylists so not a foreign language!) and ended by saying ‘think Sharon Osborne without the red’. The stylist indicated understanding and asked if I wanted some texturing and I agreed. THEN stylist tells me can only cut texture into straight hair and doesn’t like cutting into wet hair(????) O…K…hmm. Next I was subjected to having my hair pulled straight through blow drying by more than one of the staff resulting in a bit of a headache. THEN the use of no less than TWO heated hair straighteners!!!! After which my head was pounding to the point of nausea. Staff asked about the length which I said was a little long but I was told when it was wet again and the natural wave came back, it would be shorter. (I’m thinking this is going to be a long session) Anyway, staff finished cutting and asked how I liked it. As is was dead straight and NOTHING like what I asked for I said I couldn’t ‘tell. Staff told me when I washed it and dried it naturally it would be easier to tell. It looked awful! I don’t straighten my hair because it doesn’t suit me and would never ever as a hairdresser to do it! I then had to pay …and I’m pretty sure a cut and style costs $38 but I was charged $55…clearly paying for the straightening I never asked for. Why did I pay and Why didn’t I complain you ask??? Well by then the headache was unbearable and I was ready to throw up, I had seen staff cutting and had an idea the shape and style was OK even if I had to go home and do that myself…I just wanted to leave! I was very upset and disappointed. I looked forward to that ‘just been to the hairdresser’ feeling and nothing could fix that now. I will never ever EVER go back there…so I’m still on the hunt for a regular hairdresser.”
“This particular salon seems to be called HAIRTALK now. Previously Christianes. According to the Village Centre directory it IS called Smart Tops though.”
