“Given these days so many people spend more time in the City at work than in the suburbs it is great to be able to pop in for a quick wax, manicure or pedicure during your lunch break. Located on the lower ground of the Hunter Connection, it is also convenient for commuters to and from Wynyard station and they provide a wide range of services including nails including Shellac, waxing, tinting, spray tans and special deals if you purchase a package. Walk-ins are welcome and the staff are very friendly and professional in their approach and in the quality of the products they use.”
“City nails are located in hunter connection which is in connects Pitt and George Streets. It is on the lower level. City Nails offer a range of services including eyebrow and eyelash tinting, waxing, spray tans, massage, make up, however they specialise in manicures and pedicures. They are slightly more expensive than the suburbs but it is perfect if you have time in your lunch break for a quick mani or pedi. They use OPI nail polish and stock a good range of colours. I find their choice of music and their massage chairs to be an incredibly relaxing combination. They can fit up to 4 people for manis and 4 for pedis at any one time so you can more often than not just turn up without a booking and not have to wait. I have found all of their staff to be very polite and are great at what they do.”
“Acrylic nails was badly done, my fingers were soaked with chemicals to remove my old nails polish without letting me know prior, my nails were left sore, painful. Other nails salon does not use chemicals to remove acrylic. The staff were friendly but were very rough on nails and just wanna do a quick job. The result is painful nails, sore fingers and small gas bubbles on the nail polish itself the next day. One of my fingers was also cut open because of their rough job and they are also low in skill. Overall, Poor quality for Asian standard and l have to go somewhere else to remove everything they did the next day. l paid $55 to City Nails to receive a damaged and sore hands.”
“Worst nail service ever, not only did the girl slice my thumb open (not like a regular cut near the nail- she slipped or something and sliced under my thumb and it bled for a good 2 hrs), my nails are uneven and the shellac has peeled off 2 nails already (had my nails done yesterday). I’ll be returning tomorrow to get my $55 nails re-touched and never to be returning again after that experience! Not happy! I probably should be getting a tetanus shot!”
