What is a Sacrificial Anode and why are they necessary? An anode is a magnesium rod which is designed to corrode instead of your hot water system tank, hence the name sacrificial. Every tank comes with one and they usually only last 3-5 years. Once depleted, corrosion of your tank commences. Regularly replacing the anode can triple the life of your hot water system.
Hot and Cold Water Valves As part of your obligation free inspection we check your hot water systems valves. If one or both are not working correctly we offer advice and can replace if required
We replace Valves on a wide selection of models. There are a number of reasons that a valve may need replacing.
Dirt and grit may prevent the valve seat closing properly – you may also have a higher water pressure than your current valve is rated for – there may also be issues with water temperature.
You may notice a continuing dribble of water or a steady flow of water or a heavy flow of water.
It is important that valves are checked regularly and replaced when faults are discovered.

An anode is a magnesium rod inside your hot water tank and is the only thing that protects your tanks steel cylinder from severe corrosion resulting in premature tank failure. Every hot water tank comes with one and they usually only last 2-5 years. Once your anode is depleted there is nothing to stop the destructive effects of corrosion on your tank. Keep the tank you’ve got and look after it. Replace the anode and it will l last up to 3 times as long. If your hot water tank is over 4 years old then you need to replace the anode now.
