Since Virginia launched the label in 2010, búl has been creating something special. Each collection draws inspiration from a specific coastal location creating classic shapes with a distinctive edge. A focus is always placed on fine details; luxurious natural fabrics and unique prints a hallmark of the label. There is a sense of timelessness and delicacy that exists within every búl garment, allowing pieces to become treasured elements of every wardrobe.
Growing up in the heart of the Melbourne, Virginia’s passion for clothing and design was nurtured by a mother who doubled as sewing teacher. After finishing high school Virginia threw herself into design, at 19 years old her first collection was released to great success and was quickly taken up by various stores throughout Australia. Virginia eventually took a break and moved to New York, further growing as a designer while interning at renowned labels Proenza Schouler, Cynthia Rowley and Heatherette. After spending almost two years immersing herself in this world of design, she returned to Melbourne eager to establish a new label. The ocean and the coast acted as her inspiration and motivation for a label that would reflect her passion for quality garments and tailoring. That label was búl.
After launching to great success the label found it’s place in the market easily, appealing to women who sought relaxed yet quality tailored garments. From initial seasons of more classic styles that cemented a customer base, Virginia is now experimenting with more distinctive and diverse shapes and colours. The last four years have seen the brand and its popularity grow rapidly. After launching in Melbourne’s iconic Curtin House building, flagship stores in both Melbourne’s Brunswick St and Sydney’s Glenmore Rd appeared.
The label has been showcased in Melbourne Spring Fashion week and Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival over the past few years, with the opportunity to represent Victorian designers at London Fashion Week with LMFF. No longer a newcomer, búl has carved its own niche with media coverage and recognition of the label rapidly increasing. Going from strength to strength with collections become more refined each season, the future of búl is bright.

We offer free shipping within Australia for any order over $100. Shipping is charged at a flat rate of $14.50 for purchases under $100. Items will be sent via DHL Express post with an expected delivery of 3-5 days. International Shipping is charged at a flat rate of $39 via Registered Airmail with an expected delivery of 7 – 14 days. Orders received on weekends and public holidays will be processed the next business day. Shipping is not covered by insurance. We do not accept PO BOX addresses.

Standard delivery time frames are between 2-4 business days. returns and exchange policy
We hope you love your new purchase and continue shopping with us. However, if something isn’t right we are happy to offer an exchange from our online store or via one of our búl stores. búl will provide free shipping of your exchanged item(s). Refunds are only accepted on full priced items for online purchases only, and/or if the item is deemed faulty.
how to exchangeTo exchange please notify us by email at customerservice@bul.com.au within 14 days of purchase in order to receive your RA# confirming the exchange. Item(s) must be returned within 7 days of email confirmation.
please include in the email the item you would like to exchange and list the new size or product in which you would like change to. please send the item to be exchanged along with your original receipt to: búl online exchange, 120 Langridge Street, Collingwood, 3066 Once items have been received, búl online will ship your exchange request free of charge. in-store exchange: búl are happy to exchange online purchases at any store within 14 business days of receiving your order. A printed copy of the order email is required when making an exchange.
new zealand exchanges: standard shipping cost for the return of the package will be charged to your credit card. The item(s) must be returned within 10 days of email confirmation.
faulty items If a faulty item is being exchanged búl will supply a postbag for the sending of a new item. búl considers item(s) as faulty if they are received damaged, or where a manufacturing fault occurs. Items that are damaged as a result of wear and tear or improper care are not considered to be faulty.

Exchanges are not accepted on SALE items. All exchange items must be in a saleable condition. ‘Saleable condition ‘means the nature of the item(s) must remain new, unwashed and unused with all swing tags attached búl is not responsible for any item(s) exchanged that are not returned to us in a saleable condition. The customer pays for shipping to bul and búl will ship your exchange request to you free of charge.
gift voucher our gift vouchers can be redeemed at any of our búl stores (fitzroy, melbourne central, armadale, gold coast & doncaster). vouchers are not valid at the búl outlet stores.
