“I have had hair straightened 3 times in the last 8 years. The one done at Age Hair Salon was the least satisfactory. I had one done at Hair City in 2014. 9 months after the straightening it was still straight. The one done at Age Hair – some of the straightness was lost after the first hair wash 2 days after straightening. My friend suspected maybe there was not enough chemicals applied or the chemicals were not left on the hair long enough. Anyway I am not an expert and I can’t make unfair comments. So I went back to the salon for help. They said they won’t do more straightening as they are concerned it may do more damage to the hair and maybe I should try looking after and improving the look of the hair with treatment oil (maybe hair was dry from previous coloring). Well I can’t dispute with them as I don’t know for sure either. But what I do know is I want to urge other people who are considering hair straightening there to do 2 things that I did not do. 1. If you have a Groupon deal like I did and if they want to charge you extra for below shoulder hair length make sure they are straightening your whole head. In my case I had paid extra for hair cut so it was already shorter hair to begin with. Then they did not straighten the whole length which they did tell me as some of it was still straight from last straightening done 2 years ago. But I do not think a further charge is fair. 2. Ask them before straightening or buying the Groupon deal how they can rectify if the straightening does not turn out ok – would they straighten again (usually not) or could they give you a credit or part credit for other services. So it will be unfair for me to say they are crap. But I am disappointed and I know my next hair straightening will be done at Hair City again.”
