Altona Plumbing and Civil, a family-owned business operating since 1976, is  proudly one of Western Australia’s leading hydraulic contractors, providing the solution for all plumbing and civil contracting requirements.

Our team is dedicated to providing professional services specialising in medium to large scale commercial projects, civil infrastructure projects and plumbing maintenance.

Altona provides three main services – Commercial Plumbing, Civil Contracting and Maintenance Services. While each division of Altona enjoys its own autonomy, our ability to combine our resources and experience creates a competitive, robust business that sets us apart from our competitors.

Our board members collectively have held numerous positions on industry and regulatory bodies over many years, enabling us to stay abreast of changes and contribute to the future direction of the plumbing industry.

We pride ourselves in being able to successfully deliver complicated projects comprising in-ground civil works including deep sewer and stormwater systems;  new commercial plumbing including shopping centres and multi storey developments; and refurbishment works within fully operating hospitals and hotels.

We have an extensive range of Altona-owned plant and equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, skid steers, water trucks, low loader, wheel loaders, shoring and dewatering equipment.

Altona Plumbing and Civil is currently host employer to several MPA Skills apprentices.  As part of this role we assist MPA Skills with on-the-job assessments and provide regular feedback regarding the apprentices. We endeavour to add value to the industry by developing tradespersons who can turn their hands to all areas of the industry as opposed to being restricted to one particular sector. Our hard work and dedication was rewarded when we received the 2014 Commercial Construction Plumbing Business of the Year at the annual Master Plumbers & Gasfitters Association of WA Awards for Excellence. In 2013, we also became a top three finalist for Safety Innovation at the IFAP Awards.

SERVICES

Civil Contracting
Altona Plumbing and Civil, a member of the Civil Contractors Federation, and with over forty years’ experience in Perth’s inconsistent ground conditions, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the civil contracting industry.

Altona works either in the role of Head Contractor or Sub-contractor as required for each project. The Altona team is highly regarded for its ability to undertake deep sewer works in difficult ground conditions and to be able to complete projects efficiently and in accordance with Water Corporation standards.

Our Civil contracting team works closely with our Commercial division as hydraulics subcontractor on large scale and complex projects undertaking the in-ground works such as the installation of stormwater retention systems, subsoil drainage systems, sewer installation and stormwater drainage. The Civil team has excellent resources available including qualified plumbers, drainers and competent machine operators. We are also self-sufficient – able to utilise Altona Plumbing and Civil’s own plant and equipment including excavators, vacuum truck, water truck, wheel loaders, skid steers, trench shoring and de-watering systems. This vast wealth of people and specialist equipment makes us well equipped to handle all aspects of civil works.

We are also licensed to transport CLASS III & IV Controlled Waste and can offer this as an additional service, if required.

Our commercial plumbing team works closely with the head contractor, ensuring project completion with the highest quality outcome. Each project is allocated a site supervisor who inspires the team of tradespersons, plumbers and apprentices, setting out the works required and verifying that the quality of work meets the specifications and drawings.  Altona’s modern day approach to commercial plumbing means that all projects benefit from the latest materials and techniques. Our Maintenance division boasts experienced, dedicated and skilled trades persons who respond promptly and efficiently to supply professional maintenance plumbing services to the domestic and commercial market.

We strive to deliver prompt, professional service, arriving at your home or business as soon as possible. Our technicians use the latest in plumbing equipment and technology to provide efficient and effective maintenance work. In the event of an emergency, our diverse maintenance division can be allocated to your call to provide a rapid response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
