About Us
Aushealth Physiotherapy is a multi-clinic structured company based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Aushealth Physiotherapy’s clinic infrastructure, including a site within a large Medical Centre, a Hydrotherapy Pool, and a purpose built Physio Rehabilitation Gym allows Aushealth Physiotherapists to implement acute to end-stage rehabilitation following injury or surgery.
Aushealth Physiotherapy is fast becoming an icon on the Northern Beaches. Our initial research found a large gap in the deliverance of total rehabilitation following injury or surgery and we set out to create what has now grown to be a leading provider for Northern Sydney’s residents, GP’s, orthopaedic surgeons, obstetricians, as well as insurers and sporting associations.
Aushealth Physiotherapy prides itself on providing quality, outcomes-based rehabilitation after injury or surgery. The company continues to focus on expanding clinic locations, service offerings, and speciality patient care on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
Our Team
Teira Jansen – Physiotherapist and Practice Principal
Teira is passionate about Physiotherapy and finding answers for you. Having attained her Undergraduate Physiotherapy degree from Sydney University in 2003, Teira, went on to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, completing her Masters at UWA in 2007.
Interest in sports injury management was the main driving force behind Teira embarking upon Physiotherapy, stemming from being very competitive in athletics, rowing and hockey, and later becoming an aerobi cs instructor.
Since graduating, Teira has continued to study and has extended her scope of practice to include the management of complex lower back, neck, rib cage, pelvic and lower limb dysfunctions and headaches. Her favourite patient – the complex one!! Is that you?
Teira’s strength is working with you as a whole and not leaving a stone unturned in the search for the answer to your pain – this is why she gets great results. Her years working on the Northern Beaches have ensured she has a wealth of knowledge in Physiotherapy and has the right connections to refer you to when things don’t add up. She will ensure you are looked after.
Outside of work, Teira is a busy mum with 3 beautiful children. She loves being outdoors, particularly sailing, swimming and going to the beach and can often be seen standing on the side of a sports field being one of those “soccer Mums!”
Zach McKay – Physiotherapist
Zach completed his Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at UNSW and a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. These two areas of study combine a medical and exercise approach that is invaluable to Physiotherapy and enables Zach to confidently treat across a whole spectrum of injuries from acute to chronic musculoskeletal injuries, post stroke or other neurological disorders including spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
Zach specialises in musculoskeletal injuries, including neck, back and pelvic pain, with a special interest in shoulder and rib cage/thoracic pain and dysfunction. He runs hydrotherapy classes for patients that have difficulty with land based exercise or following surgery and has developed a very successful and results driven strength and conditioning hydrotherapy program.
Zach is driven by a desire to excel in the constantly evolving profession that is Physiotherapy and to get his patients the best results. His regularly travels to attend courses and seminars and welcomes the debate and information sharing that occurs between professionals at these events. Similarly he invites his patients to ask questions so that they fully understand their injury and treatment and they can have the best recovery possible.
Outside of work Zach enjoys a little adrenaline and can be seen rock climbing, skiing, abseiling or canyoning. He also enjoys swimming and going to the gym.
Sarah Arkins – Physiotherapist
Sarah’s light bulb moment that put her on the path to being a Physiotherapist followed a personal injury that kept her from being active. It was at this time she experienced the difference that a Physio can make in ones life.
Driven by this desire to make a difference and a love of sport, Sarah first studied a Bachelor of Exercise Science at ACU to ensure she had a solid grounding in exercise rehabilitation. She then followed this up with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at Sydney University, graduating in 2007
Since then Sarah has worked in private practice treating a multitude of musculoskeletal injuries of both upper and lower limbs, with her main focus on shoulders.
As the “go to” Physio for rehabilitation following surgery (and for preparation prior to surgery) for many surgeons on the Northern Beaches, Sarah loves incorporating her sporting and exercise based rehabilitation experience into her treatments. This ensures her patients return to a high level of fitness and achieve their goals. She integrates hands on manual therapy with gym based treatment and functional strengthening principles to get her patients back on track and help them stay there.
Also a teacher of Clinical Pilates, she ensures that each patient has correct body mechanics to keep themselves functioning at a high level and free from pain. With the emphasis on exercise rehabilitation, patients can be sure to be given an individualised program to meet their goals.
Sarah continues to make a difference in people’s lives by encouraging an active approach to injury and life in general. Her “can do” attitude is rewarded by the great results her patients achieve, with many of her patients referring friends and family to help them get on the right track.
Outside of work, Sarah spends most her time outdoors either running, outrigging, going on bike riding adventures with her little boy or doing yoga.
If you would like to make an appointment to see Sarah, please call us on 02 9905 0048 and we’ll look after you.

She has undertaken significant training in the assessment and treatment of women’s health issues, most specifically those relating to the pelvic floor, continence retraining, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic girdle pain, abdominal separation and pregnancy related issues (both pre- and post-natal).
On a more personal level, historically, Jenni played National League Division 1 Indoor Volleyball and competed on the National Beach Volleyball Tour in England. Currently, she is a keen trail and soft sand runner and is coming out of retirement to play beach volleyball again. Megan Campbell – Physiotherapist
Megan graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Sports Science (Exercise Science) and then followed this up with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) from the University of Sydney in 2008.
Megan had her sights set on Physiotherapy from a young age and she derived great enjoyment from studying health and physical education at school. She is driven by her desire to fix problems and gets overwhelming satisfaction from seeing the changes that Physio can make to an individual’s life.
Megan has a special interest in the inter-relationship between Musculoskeletal and Neurological Physiotherapy, which probably stems from an early interest in Paediatrics, and she loves the challenge of a difficult or complex injury. She particularly enjoys treating problematic shoulders, backs and pelvic pain and complex ankle injuries, but is equipped to deal with any area!
Megan developed her acute sports injury experience working pitch side with various sporting groups including hockey, gymnastics, netball and AFL.
She has taken a break from this to focus on her private practice career and starting a family! Outside of work, Megan has been known to chase winter around the globe in pursuit of perfect snowboarding powder and also to treat her friends and family to her amazing culinary skills (she makes a mean sticky date pudding)
Megan will continue to follow her passion for her career in the next few years by embarking upon her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy – watch this space.
If you would like to make an appointment with Megan, please call 02 9905 0048 and we would be happy to help.
Kylie Smith – Physiotherapist

From there Kylie worked extensively in a private and public setting hospital setting and within the community treating patients following orthopaedic and joint replacement surgery, particularly hips and knees.
Kylie also spent many years pitch side as a Physiotherapist for a prominent rugby league team in the UK, giving a wealth of experience in sporting injuries.
