The Academy is one of Australia’s major private college trainers of hairdressers.
Established in 1932, thousands of students have qualified, finding employment in salons, and many becoming self-employed. Some colleges in Melbourne have been owned by Academy graduates.
Our Beauty courses were established 40 years ago, and are very popular.
You’ll love the training as it is very flexible, independent learning, full or part time and there is no age limit.
Courses start every week of the year.
Salon Experience
You will sometimes hear people say, if you don’t do an apprenticeship, you won’t be experienced enough to work in a salon.
Well, this is not the case for Academy’s graduates.
You will practise with clients from the beginning of your course.
You will receive so much experience in the Academy’s salon that you can even open your own salon when you graduate if that is your dream.

Facial
Skin is pampered with a thorough cleanse, tone, mask and moisturiser. 30 minutes

Location
The Academy is located on the edge of the Melbourne CBD, in a busy part of North Melbourne, right near bussling Errol Street. Errol Street has a great variety of food and coffee shops, banks, supermarkets and many more small shops. In fact right next door we have Subway and a great noodle shop!
The Academy is at 530 Victoria Street, North Melbourne. It is easily accessed by either tram, train or bus. Car parks are within walking distance.
We are very close to Stop 11 – Errol Street on the 57 West Maribyrnong tram line, which connects to both Flinders Street and Melbourne Central train stations.
Exit the stations at Elizabeth Street and catch the Number 57 tram to Stop 11.
