At Chan & Naylor, we’re passionate about property. But we don’t sell any. We neither recommend any specific properties, nor align ourselves to any developments or projects.

One clear example of our expertise in property that has benefited many of our property investor clients, has been the creation of the Chan & Naylor Property Investor Trust® (PIT®) which was subsequently approved by the ATO in relation to negative gearing tax deductions. This unique trust deed was among the first property specific investment trusts and the only property investment trust given a Product Ruling by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allowing investors to have certainty of interest tax deductibility on negatively geared properties, if used in accordance with the approved ATO Product Ruling in favour of our Property Investor Trust®.

Our Story

Chan & Naylor Accountants was established in 1990. Over 27 years as Practicing Accountants both Edward Chan and David Naylor saw the many mistakes people made in using inappropriate structures for their investment properties.   In seeking ways to prevent these errors, they have developed a range of structuring vehicles, that, when used correctly, assist clients in building wealth more successfully and safely.

Chan & Naylor have become one of the country’s leading Accountants for property investors, specialising in structuring, we have nurtured an expertise within the firm that rivals and surpasses some of the largest accountancy firms in Australia.

Ken Raiss joined Ed and David in 2004 and assisted in Chan & Naylor’s major national expansion with inclusion of new Partners and new office locations in NSW, QLD, VIC, SA & WA.

We’ve been awarded Financial Planning practice of the year for five consecutive years running since 2011. We were also ranked by Business Review Weekly (BRW) as the 39th in BRW’s Top 100 Accounting Firms 2013 – up from 47th position in 2012 – as well as Australia’s ‘Fastest Growing Accounting Firm in 2007, 2008 and 2013.

Despite the success and expansion, the Chan & Naylor Group continues to reflect the culture of service and professionalism that the founding partners, Ed and Dave established when they started Chan & Naylor Accountants in 1990.
