Tattoo Removal

HOW DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

Lasers are used to target the pigment in tattoo ink that resides below the skins surface and shatters it. Your body’s natural immune system will then absorb, break down and dispose of the pigment over a period of time.

WAVELENGTH MATTERS.

Different colour ink settles in different depths of the skin. Black ink settles in the lower part of the dermis, Blues/Greens settle mid dermis and Reds/Oranges settle at the surface of the dermis. In order to successfully treat different ink colours, you need different wavelengths to properly target each colour and its depth within the skin.

It comes down to Physics: The two most important factors a wavelength has is 1) how deep the wavelength penetrates the skin and 2) what colour(s) does the wavelength target.

When taking into account where ink colours reside within the skin, research has proven the best wavelength to successfully target dark pigment (Black, Dark Blues, etc.) is the ND:Yag 1064. The best wavelength to target the difficult Blue and Green colours is the Ruby 694 and the only wavelength to target Red is the KTP 532.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

The age, location and quality of the tattoo as well as the colours used, combined with your body’s ability to dispose of the ink will determine the total number of treatments needed. We will discuss this in depth with you during an initial consult to help establish realistic expectations.

On average an amateur tattoo will need between 3-5 treatments, while a professional tattoo will generally require between 6-10 treatments. Each session needs to be spaced 6-8 weeks apart to allow for skin healing and tattoo fading.

Normally greater than 95% fading of a tattoo may be accomplished. It is however difficult to give an exact number of treatments a tattoo will need before achieving the desired fading. In saying that, you can be assured of the highest quality and best result at our clinic.

WHAT IS THE COST INVOLVED?

Cost is predominately based on tattoo size. We take into account the amount of ink in the tattoo, body placement and also if there is any negative space (skin in-between parts of the tattoo) and will always give our clients the best price per session.

We also have on-going Specials and Packages for our clients, which help make the treatments more economical. During your initial free consultation all clients are given a formal quote.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

There is some discomfort that most clients often associate with a hot rubber band being snapped on the skin.  During every laser treatment, we utilise the Koolio Cool Air System, which is used to help reduce swelling and discomfort during the tattoo removal treatment. Typically the laser sessions only last between 2-10mins in duration. We always work with our clients, ensuring every laser treatment is as comfortable as we can make it.

HOW SHOULD I LOOK AFTER THE TATTOO?

On completion of each laser removal treatment, the area will be dressed with antiseptic cream and a dressing applied. Before leaving, every client is provided detailed written aftercare instructions. Clients are also welcome during any stage of the healing process to contact or visit us, should they have any queries. It is important that you feel at ease and comfortable throughout the whole removal process.

WHAT IS LASER REJUVENATION?

Laser Rejuvenation is a new and revolutionary treatment used to help reduce the effects of skin aging and many other skin issues. It is non-ablative, meaning clients require no down time after the procedure and there is no risk of scarring, as the laser passes straight through the top layer of skin.
Laser Rejuvenation is suitable for (but not restricted too) the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

Feather Touch Brow Tattooing

WHAT IS MICRO-BLADING?

This subtle semi permanent tattoo technique (also known as micro-blading, 3D brow, hair stroke tattoos or micro-pigmentation) looks completely natural as it mimics real hair. Using a metal hand tool, carefully selected high quality tattoo pigments are gently implanted using a ‘hair-stroke’ method, into the upper layers of the skin. Designed to frame each clients face with a fuller and more shapely brow.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

All our clients start with a consultation to determine if they are a good candidate for feather touch tattooing. Then the brow colour and shape is discussed, measured and drawn to suit each persons individual requirements. Once the client is happy with the design, a topical anaesthetic is applied, helping reduce any discomfort  throughout the procedure.

We use high quality hypoallergenic tattoo pigments, designed to be implanted into human skin. All metal hand tools and needles used are disposable and all other equipment, as well as the treatment room, follow strict sterilisation guidelines.

BEFORE YOUR BROW APPOINTMENT.

If you wax or tint your eyebrows, please to this 3 days prior to scheduled appointment. We will also tweeze any little hairs that are outside the brow shape we design.
You’re welcome to gather some reference photos showing the type of brow shape or colour you are hoping to achieve.
Stop taking blood thinners such as fish oil tablets, 7 days prior to your booking.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER…

After the procedure is complete, the pigment in brows may appear darker than first thought, this is completely normal and over the next 7-14 days will significantly fade to reveal your desired brow colour.  A complementary follow up appointment is booked 4-8 weeks later, for any required re-touches.

HOME CARE.

Written in depth aftercare instructions are given to each client during their treatment and are to be closely followed, ensuring new brows heal properly.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Feather Touch Brow Tattooing, is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure, meaning the brows will not wash off but will fade over a period of time. Factors such as skin type, sun exposure, lifestyle, health and skincare regime, can all effect the brows longevity. No guarantee is given as to how long your brow tattoos will last, however most clients find they can last up to 2 years. Clients may like to book in for a re-touch appointment after 12-18 months to keep brows well defined and looking their best. Price: $250.

APPOINTMENT BOOKING POLICY.

All client’s are required to leave a $100 deposit to hold their Feather Brow appointment. The deposit will then come off the cost of the procedure on the day of treatment. A minimum of 72hrs is required to reschedule of cancel booking. Failure to give the required amount of notice may result in your deposit being forfeited. Please ensure that you call the clinic as soon as possible, should you be unable to make your appointment time.
