Beaumont Hills Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic

Why Choose Beaumont Hills Physiotherapy and Sports Injury clinic.

The simple answer is experience. Our principle Physiotherapist- Scott Thompson, has been actively practicing since 1989. During this time Scott has developed a diverse set of treatment and diagnostic skills that only constant practice can achieve.

Having worked with a variety of clientele in both Acute and Chronic injury management, hospital and Private Practice settings, Scott has a vast knowledge base to draw on. The advantage is, this provides our clientele a solution to their problems not just treatment. This has a cost benefit for our clients as less follow up appointments are required.

Scott Thompson
B.App.Sc Physiotherapy APAM

Having graduated from Cumberland College of Health Sciences (now Sydney University) in 1989, I have been a registered practising Physiotherapist for over 25 years.

I spent my initial 5 years working at Nepean and Governor Phillip Hospitals in Penrith gaining experience in the management of acute and chronic Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Rheumatologic conditions and Hydrotherapy.

Since 1994 I have worked in private practice (Wentworthville 1994-2006, Dural/ Round Corner 2006-2011),  caring for a wide variety of patient types, of all ages. This has included but not limited to Sporting Injuries-both acute and chronic, Musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Workers Compensation, Third party and Rheumatologic conditions.

My Philosophy is to identify, the cause of a patient’s symptoms through assessment of Biomechanical and contributing factors, rather than just treating symptoms. This approach has enabled me to provide long term solutions to client conditions, not just a quick fix.

I use a variety of treatment modalities inluding but not limited to, Manual Therapy (hands on) and Exercise prescription.

Over the past 27 years I have also gained experience in many varied Chronic and Acute conditions with a vast knowledge base of assessment and treatment skills.

I am able to apply upper limb and lower limb plasters.

I am a current member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and practise according to the APA code of Practice and Ethics.
Member Sports Physiotherapy Association (SPA)

I am a Work Cover approved provider, Department of Veteran Affairs and Medicare approved.

On a personal level I am a keen follower of most sports and have played Cricket and Lawn bowls at competitive level. I have an interest in throwing injuries and back injuries in cricketers and completed a thesis on “Back injuries in Fast Bowlers” on graduation.

I have also played Soccer, Tennis, Hockey, Australian Rules Football, Golf and various other sports at a recreational level.

Reviews

“I literally went through the trouble of signing up for a true local account specifically to be able to write this review and outline how horrible an experience one can expect if they choose to visit Beaumont Hills Physiotherapy Clinic. From the time i walked through the door the physio at the counter was unbelievably rude and condescending. That coupled by the cramped and dingy nature of the business is unacceptable. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy”
