BENEFITS OF MASSAGE

Most people would agree a massage makes them feel good. Not all however realise the short and long term benefits in sustaining activity and a healthy life style. Over 5000 years ago the Chinese were using massage to heal and restore the body. In western culture we are only now realising the beneficial effect that massage can have on improving performance, aiding recovery, preventing injuries, reducing stress and even enhancing metabolism and circulation.

DO YOU SUFFER FROM LOWER BACK, SHOULDER OR NECK PAIN, IN FACT PAIN ANYWHERE IN YOUR BODY?

Pain is the body’s mechanism for telling us something is wrong! Useful for all of the conditions listed below and more, massage can:

Alleviate joint pain and improve range of motion
Restore normal function to tight dysfunctional muscle and fascial tissue
Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts
Improve circulation, pumping oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs
Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defence system
Lessen depression and anxiety
Reduce post surgery adhesions and promote tissue regeneration
Reduce muscle spasms and cramping
Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles
Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller
Ease medication dependence
Relieve headaches and migraine pain

OUR AMAZING TEAM

Our therapists are all diploma qualified and many hold qualifications in other fields such as exercise physiology and nutrition.

Shelley has an extensive professional background as a Human Resources Manager for a large global Corporation, with specific experience in coordinating rehabilitation of injured workers.  She has observed first-hand the long-term corrosive effects of stress and tension on the body which present as loss of flexibility and joint movement, reduction in productivity and performance.  Her desire to ‘make a positive difference’ to her clients is well-established and is a core philosophy that drives her personally and in her business ventures.

For the past few years she has worked extensively as a Diploma-qualified remedial/deep tissue massage therapist in a number of local clinics, and has realized one of her long-term career goals of opening her own remedial/sports massage clinic in the Shire.

This new clinic offers enhanced facilities, and value-add services, whilst maintaining the client expectations of a high level of personal attention and individualized treatments.

She has quickly established a team of male and female deep tissue massage therapists with a like-minded attitude towards customer care, who offer additional specialist modalities and expertise which complement each other.

All therapists working for the clinic hold a current First Aid Certificate, have a current “Working with Children” accreditation and clearance, and hold full public and professional liability insurance.
