In 2002, after working very successfully in the beauty industry for more than 15 years, Brazilian Butterfly founder Tanya Farrar recognised a gap and subsequent need for a professional, yet fresh, fun and progressive salon to take advantage of the specialty niche market that had been neglected by other salons – Brazilian waxing.

“Been a few times for full leg wax etc with an average-good result. Before our Christmas holiday I booked for full leg + bikini with a spray tan the following day.. When I arrived for the first appointment I explained how much of a nightmare it was to get a sitter for my son, the girl did my bikini and said see you outside.. I reminded her I was having full leg as well to which she told me I wasn’t booked in for that and went to check, came back to say sorry, your not and were fully booked so you will have to find elsewhere (@ 3pm) I actually got teary after the hassle I had to even be there and that I had a tan booked and was about to leave on holidays. I was also annoyed that the girl went over the same area so many times that my skin was raw (trying to tell me the hair was to short, what I failed to tell her is I know it wasn’t as I did waxing for years myself) thankfully there was one place open who could fit me in (a dodgy nail bar!!) when I returned for my tan the following day (out of desperation) I tried asking about the colour as a few previous tans have been orange to which this girl changed the subject to depth.. I had my son with me as I had no choice so needed to be quick..
One of the most orange tans I have ever had and due to my skin being raw in areas from over waxing.. I had patches of super dark orange..
As a mum.. Doing something for myself doesn’t come often or easy.. It’s a rare treat, not only did I look terrible, I felt terrible and wasted our families money.
After all the claims that it is professional and specializes in these areas I can safely say I disagree and I will NEVER return to this salon..”
