Our main focus is women’s health, fertility and IVF. Andrew also has a strong interest in musculoskeletal issues and has experience in a number of different conditions.

Acupuncture

Andrew Fox is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a wide variety of experience. His main focus is acupuncture and significance interest in women’s health, infertility (不育), pain (疼痛) including sports injuries.
Andrew has been working with the body for seventeen years and has extensive experience in women’s health.
Other commonly dealt with issues include period pain (期間疼痛), pre and postnatal care and many other conditions associated with women’s health.
Children’s conditions can be treated with Chinese Medicine which usually involves changes in diet and if needed acupuncture.

Andrew has also been a supervisor at the Australian College of Sports Therapy. Chinese medicine has been used to treat a wide range of physical injuries. Conditions that we commonly treat include pain (疼痛) (neck, back & joint) skin conditions (皮膚狀況), digestive problems (消化問題), headaches/migraines (頭痛/偏頭痛).
Andrew was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine through exercise therapy (qigong and tai chi) that he has practiced for over 15 years and since then has developed a passion for all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Andrew continues to study advance acupuncture techniques to relieve pain and purse diagnoses with a leader of Chinese Medicine.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points. The selected points relate directly to the particular condition of the patient. The Chinese have mapped these points over two thousand years, and there are more than a thousand known acupuncture points.

Osteopathy

Our osteopaths treat a range of conditions including: headaches, migraines, back and neck pain, limb pain, joint pain, muscle tension and trauma related injuries.

Osteopathic Treatment

When you initially come in for a consultation, the osteopath will take a thorough medical history to gain an insight into possible causes and contributing factors related to your condition. The osteopath will then use palpation to assess areas of weakness, tenderness, restriction or strain within your body. Once a diagnosis is reached, the osteopath will employ a variety of techniques including: soft tissue (massage), muscle stretching techniques, joint articulation and mobilisation, myofascial release and joint traction. The follow-up care and advice may include stretching and strengthening exercises, breathing techniques and advice on nutrition.

Each intial consultation will take about 40 minutes.

Each subsequent consultation will take about 30 minutes.

Qualification Details

Currently there are 2 fully qualified osteopaths at Brunswick Osteopathy and Acupuncture. Dr Stuart King and Dr Caitlin Wright have both completed a 5 year university course comprising a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Master of Health Science in Osteopathic Medicine.
