We are an Underwood based, CPA firm of accountants specialising in servicing small and medium businesses and self-managed superannuation funds. Our aim is to provide our clients with a service that far exceeds the level offered by many other accounting firms.

Feedback from clients who have come to us from other accounting practices indicates the most frequent frustrations they have experienced include: difficulty in getting through to someone who can help them; non-return of phone calls; inability to explain matters in simple terms; taking months to complete work and lack of feedback on progress.

Personal Attention

Our aim is to develop a close professional relationship with you and your business. Your relationship will primarily be with the principal of the practice, who is supported by a team of well qualified staff who share the firm’s commitment to delivering a high quality, personalised service.

Responsiveness

We are committed to returning telephone calls on the same day if possible, and no later than the next working day. Feedback from our clients regularly indicates how much they appreciate being able to easily get through to us with their queries. Indeed we prefer that clients contact us beforehand as it is much easier to give advice up front rather than trying to correct things after the event.

Communication

Tax legislation is complex. As we want to assist you in managing your business we will make every endeavour to help guide you through the mass of taxation issues that confront small businesses every day. We make every effort to explain complex tax matters in everyday language so that our clients have a good understanding of their tax affairs.

Processing Standards

A number of surveys of accounting practices have shown that an average turnaround time of three months for the preparation of end of year financial statements and the associated tax return is common. We aim for a turnaround time of at the most six weeks, and in most cases our completion time is within four weeks.

Quality Assurance

As a CPA practice, we are required to undergo peer reviews of our internal processes and procedures. Feedback from these reviews has been overwhelmingly positive.

The qualifications of our staff and our processing procedures are aimed at ensuring a high quality result each and every time. All of our accountants are either CPA qualified or completing their CPA qualification and all accounting and taxation work prepared by our staff is reviewed by the practice principal before being finalised.

At the commencement of our engagement, we prepare a terms of engagement letter for you which sets out our understanding of what services are needed and an estimate of cost so that you can be sure we are on the same page as you. We are also required to provide this letter under the professional standards of CPA Australia.

Our Team

Peter Clarke has been a Certified Practising Accountant for over 25 years. Peter is a Registered Tax Agent, Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business (with distinction) and a Diploma in Financial Services.

Wayne Griffiths leads the advisory and consulting services team, and has 21 years experience in business development, consulting and strategic planning. Wayne is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds a Bachelor of Science and Graduate Diploma in Business Management.

Lusia Sunaryo is the Business Services Manager of the practice. Lusia is a Certified Practising Accountant and holds a Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) and Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences.

Other accounting staff. Our supporting accounting staff are degree qualified accountants and have either obtained or are studying to obtain Certified Practising Accountant status.

Rebecca Ainge is our receptionist and generally first point of contact for our clients.

Tania Clarke is our office administrator and looks after the efficient operation of our office.
