She launched her namesake label ten years ago. Now, celebrated designer and artist Camilla Franks is a name synonymous with Australian fashion and lifestyle. Each CAMILLA piece is infused with story: the destination and adventure are yours to fill with vibrant colour, digital print, bohemian detailing and intricate craftsmanship. All pieces are luxurious, individualistic and timeless, creating a sentimental place in your wardrobe and life.

Camilla first found inspiration in theatre, designing flamboyant costumes for the colourful characters of the stage, reveling in the ovation they received. Her entrepreneurial spirit inspired the launch of CAMILLA, and her debut collection of bold kaftans marked a pioneering moment for resortwear in Australia and globally

In 2004, Camilla opened her first boutique, at the world famous Bondi Beach. Her collections captured Sydney’s global yet earthy identity, with exuberant colours and prints, precious silk fabrications, and detailed crystal embellishments.

“Still love this store. As you walk in you are instantly captivated by the colours and sparkly crystals form their silk pieces. The assistants are happy to help you style any piece. As I was shopping beautifully dressed women, many wearing Camilla pieces already – were styled to perfection in the latest prints from Camilla. Sarongs, turned into capes, kaftans turned into maxi skirts, scarfs turned into headpieces- it was all very creative and fun. Pieces are quite expensive, expect to pay over $400 an item, but it is such a great experience and I love the versatility of the brand!”

“One of my favourite stores in the area. I often come in here and peruse the racks dreaming on one day owning a gorgeous silk crepe Camilla dress. I had already watched all the youtube videos on the myriad ways of styling this pieces, stalked the brand on instagram and maybe even tried a few on in numerous other stores. But today was the day I would finally do the dirty deed of buying my first Camilla drawstring dress. I wasn’t planning on purchasing it, I walked in like I do every other weekend, placed my hands on nearly every garment, my heart skipping a beat with every touch. And then the sales assistant said “for 4 days only, it is a further 20% off all items”. What? a sale on a sale? Unheard of for this iconic Australian designer which typically sells items for $599. After holding my breathe, and checking with my husband, I decided to buy it… The sales assistance wrapped it beautifully int issue, and also gave me all the look books and cards to cement me as a Camilla Ringleader. I’ll definitely be back, but I may not buy another for a while…”
