Welcome to Camperdown Physiotherapy
We are located in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Medical Centre (RPAH Medical Centre) – a short journey from the CBD, close to King Street in Newtown.
Camperdown Physiotherapy has been established for more than 20 years, providing quality treatment of all injuries, including neck pain, back pain, headaches and joint injuries. Our focus is on providing hands-on treatment based on an up-to-date understanding of emerging research into the most effective approaches.
Appointments can be made for consultations between the hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Parking is available underneath the building or in nearby streets, and there is level access into the suite.

No referral is required for physiotherapy. All our physiotherapists are registered with the New South Wales Government Physiotherapy Registration Board. We are happy to provide treatment for clients of Workcover and Motor Vehicle (CTP) Insurance claims.

Maria Rocca, BAppSc (Physio)
Principal Physiotherapist
Maria has been Principal Physiotherapist at Camperdown Physiotherapy since 1994. Maria has extensive experience in the treatment of all musculo-skeletal injuries, with a particular interest in the management of lumbo-sacral instability. Maria graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (1991). She has completed a postgraduate certificate in acupuncture from the Australian Physiotherapy Association (2001), and also has qualifications in the treatment of Lymphoedema.
Timothy Austin, BAppSc (Physio), MScM (Pain Mgt)
Principal Physiotherapist
Tim has been Principal Physiotherapist at Camperdown Physiotherapy since 1994. Tim has extensive experience in the treatment of all musculo-skeletal injuries, with a particular interest in the management of chronic pain. He consults to the Pain Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the running of their Intensive Pain Management Program, and lectures in Pain Management at the University of Sydney. Tim graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (1991) and a Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) from the University of Sydney (2007). Tim is a keen long distance runner, and has an interest in assisting fellow runners deal with their injuries.
Jo Munro, BAppSc (Physio), MHlth Sci (Edu)
Hand Therapist
Jo joined Camperdown Physiotherapy as a Hand Therapist in 2006 with many years’ experience in the assessment and treatment of hand injuries. Jo has worked in a number of specialised hand therapy private practices and in major teaching hospitals, including Therapist-in-Charge of hand therapy at Sydney Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. Jo has extensive experience in crafting a broad range of splints to suit varying hand injuries, and she works collaboratively with many of Sydney’s leading hand surgeons. Jo graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the Cumberland College of Health Sciences (1986) and has completed a Masters in Education.
Simon Nicholls, BAppSc (Physio)
Physiotherapist
Simon joined Camperdown Physiotherapy in 2007 as a Physiotherapist with a background in prosthetics and orthotics. Simon has worked as a physiotherapist in Australia and the U.K. in a variety of settings in both public and private sectors, gaining experience in treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. Simon graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from Sydney University (2002), and has completed a post-graduate certificate in acupuncture from the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (2006). Simon is a keen sportsman and has a special interest in the treatment of sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

We have many years experience in the treatment of all types of muscle, joint and spinal disorders, including the following:

- All peripheral joint injuries (shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle/foot);
- Post operative rehabilitation (such as knee/ankle arthroscopy, hip/knee replacement);
- Pain Management;
Our Hand Therapist specialises in the assessment and treatment of all injuries and conditions involving the hand. She is competent at making the various types of splints that might be required.
Acupuncture may be used as part of the treatment process.
We also apply and remove waterproof casts for the management of fractures. This usually allows for showering and swimming. We also supply Aircast boots that may be appropriate for the management of ankle and foot fractures or injuries.
