Broni

Broni has been working with hair since she was a child. From the innocent childhood days of blowdrying her little brother’s hair in the family home to now a successful entrepreneur, owner and manager of the amazing Chameleon New Age Salon.

Broni has owned and managed Salons in Broadbeach/Surfers Paradise for the past 10 years, albeit at a much smaller scale than the Sanctuary she has now created in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Her training was under an Internationally renowned and awarded stylist. Broni prides herself in providing exemplary customer care with her VIP customers being with her for the past 10 years from her humble beginnings in Florida Gardens.

Broni was recently successfully nominated as the Luminart Colour Technician for Queensland. Travelling to Adelaide for further training and upon her return running training in other Salons on the Gold Coast. This placement earned from her substantial contribution to hair dressing, attention to detail, customer care and her ability to provide her customers exactly what they are looking for be it a cut and colour to the extreme end of brights and mermaid colours she is so well known for.

Broni started selling crystals two years ago in the shop in the Arcade. Six months later she imported a tonne of Salt Lamps, selling them all within a few months.

For many the roller coaster journey Broni has enjoyed would be incomprehensible. She believes that there are higher forces at work guiding her to do what she is doing including the journey into the new Sanctuary. In the Salon we all know that her father, who passed in April 2015 has been a significant Guiding Force from the very beginning with the new Salon. Broni has been on a mission for the past two years and this gained momentum in recent months. She has an uncanny knack of knowing what is going on under the surface in any situation, compassion for humanity, absolute passion for her work and people generally.

Broni has developed a strong network in and around the Gold Coast and is well known for her soulful eyes, beautiful smile, integrity, kindness, compassion and friendly nature. The energy of Chameleon New Age Salon is a testament to who Broni is – a hair appointment with Broni is never just about the hair it is a holistic experience and exciting adventure into creativity.

Sapphire

or Mama Sita as she is affectionately known in the Salon moved from a corporate background in personal injury law and Commonwealth Fraud Investigation to step into her soul chosen field of Healing.

Sapphie comes from four generations of miners. Her passion for crystals is clear, intuitively guiding people towards gems to support them emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Her knowledge of grids is tailored for the individual, also creating kits to treat specific health issues.

She has been facilitating Emotional Healing Workshops for 7 years, in addition to combing a number of other techniques. Sapphie’s previous work has also included Youth Worker, Crisis Counsellor, Group Facilitator, Body Worker, Psychosomatic Therapist, Liquid Crystal Practitioner, Kahuna Lomi Lomi Massage Therapist, Crystal and Sound Therapy, Meditation facilitator and Event Manager. Her studies include Counselling, Psychology (particularly adoption, separation, trauma and abuse), Epigenetics, Psychosomatic Therapy, Shamanic Healing and Reiki.

Sapphie is one of our receptionists and an intuitive healer and Lomi Lomi massage therapist. She is also one of our Aura Photographers, providing personal insights during the mini reading and referring to other members of our team if needed. Always a smile, a warm hug and a shoulder if needed when you walk through the door. Mama Sita to all that come into Chameleon.

Sapphie has a strong connection to the water, whales and dolphins and in particular the Angelic realm. She draws on a wealth of personal experience and wisdom in her healing sessions.   A conversation with her is a journey of personal discovery, a healing session with her is a journey between worlds and reconnecting with the heart. Sapphie is an empath, mother, grandmother, Goddess, Channel, Spiritual Warrior and compassionate speaker of truth.

Azusa

Azu walked into the shop one day, a bright, bubbly Japanese girl with tattoos and piercings too many to count. We fell in love with her instantly, she needed work, Broni needed support, within a week she was with us.

Azu has been in Australia for a few months and in that time lived in Coffs Harbour prior to moving the Goldie. She brings a dynamic to the team that is invaluable. Her quirky sense of humour, flash of green hair, excellent sense of humour and rad dress style brightening the place up even on the dreariest of days.

Her training is with the renowned Nippon Beauty Academy in Japan. Her additional skills are in Head Massage and she has a reputation for the best hair washer in Surfers Paradise. You are literally massaged into sleep under her hands.

Azu is a valuable member in our team, a hard worker, team player – our lives are brighter for her being here with us.

Our Joureny

Broni has owned and managed Chameleon New Age Salon for 11 years, the past 18 months in a small arcade store in Surfers Paradise. The Salon was New Age in that the retail offered crystals, salt lamps and New Age products. Broni also had a successful, regular stall at the Surfers Paradise weekly markets on the Esplanade. Her regular customers both in the salon and the markets reassured by her sunny disposition and willingness to go the extra mile to meet people’s needs. Her stall at the markets providing the perfect platform and opportunity to meet Kieran.

The journey for the new space began last year in India, a holiday  booked after being together for only a couple of weeks. During that journey they travelled on a minimum budget, living amongst locals, visiting many spiritual sites and of course buying hand crafted stock for Chameleons regular spot at the Markets.  The journey provided the perfect platform to meet new wholesalers face to face that would ensure continued imports of traditional hand made Indian products.

During the journey through India Broni and Kieran birthed a dream of owning a shop in the middle of Surfers Paradise where anyone could come and feel part of a greater community. At that point in time the concept was for hair salon, crystals, Indian home furnishings, New Age & Wiccan Products, Beauty Therapy, Clairvoyants, Shamanic Healing and of course a Yoga Studio. The dream was birthed with the hope of a financial windfall and on the rise of new love.

Sapphie met Broni at the Harmony Body Soul Festival in 2015. Sapphie was providing face and body readings for the public and Broni a crystal stall. An invite to come in and get the regrowth retuned and the rest is history. In February 2015 a clairvoyant friend of Broni’s told her she would be moving into new space. Broni shared the news with Sapphie…more excitement. Sure enough three months later Broni and Kieran started looking for space to weave the dream to life.

The Landlord spent time with Broni and Kieran and believed in the viability of their dream.  Contracts were signed and the keys exchanged in May.

The geometry of the space at 3171 Surfers Paradise Boulevard complete with double arch doors, a Fibonacci spiral staircase and 400 square meters of space upstairs complemented by bay windows and dappled sunlight through the Poinciana trees outside immediately drew them in.

The Landlord spent time with Broni and Kieran and believed in the viability of their dream. Contracts were signed and keys exchanged in May. Broni and Kieran spent the first night sharing a romantic pizza and wine dinner on the ground floor – a special moment between twin flames birthing a dream together.

The fit out started with stealth, the doors always open to engage the local community and tourists. Kieran worked his regular job from 6am to 4pm then straight into the shop to bring the dream to life. His hands at one point so beaten and swollen from all the work he was delegated to varnishing duties for a short time. The painting provided moments of sheer joy and childish play, with many moments of mayhem in between. The black walls were transformed to white the first weekend – the bathrooms made clean for human use after many months of occupation by pigeons.

Much fun was had with the painting, dancing, kebab lunches and pizza picnics during the fit out stage. Sapphie and Broni enjoying the many drives to wholesalers to purchase crystals, plants and homewares, Gene often in the backseat completely swamped by lily’s, ferns, crystals and any wares purchased from Bunnings. It just was not a fulfilling weekend for any of us without a visit to Bunnings or Masters!

Kieran singl e handedly built all the shelving downstairs, the treatment rooms and yoga studio upstairs. His hands at one point so weather and swollen from all the work he was delegated to varnishing duties for a short time.   The Surfers community were very supportive, offering encouragement for the success of such a unique concept in the heart of a City that had a disjointed approach to community.

Broni was moved into downstairs exactly 6 weeks after they collected the keys and it was business as usual. The move took about three hours in the rain with the use of many shopping trolleys and a few good laughs along the way. Ebay and Gumtree two of our favourite shopping sites with the exception of Bunnings! We were regular customers there for many weeks…our relationship with them continues.

While Broni ensured business as usual in the Salon and retail sales growing, Kieran and his brother Callum continued to work  tirelessly to complete the rooms upstairs and display space for the Indian and New Age home furnishings.

Broni has been blessed engaging with new wholesalers that support her in providing the community with a range of products that are not available anywhere else on the Gold Coast. Broni has also created space to provide hair services to Muslim women – the only Salon in Surfers Paradise that provides screening as require. It has been such a joy welcoming such a multicultural aspect to the Salon.

The journey has been exciting, fun and at times tiring particularly for Broni dealing with the death of her father, but the hard work is paying off. Dad providing the penultimate Angelic presence at the front of the shop – his shotgun ray protecting the space from any harm.

The dream of creating a community hub is succeeding with people from all walks of life coming through the doors and enjoying the space. One of the favourite spots Chameleon is the Chill Out Lounge – a favourite for relaxation, chats or a drumming session on a Friday night.

We have our regulars that come through the door including a few homeless people we provide food and clothing too. We also provide financial support to the Domestic Violence Crisis Centre on the Gold Coast, through our second had book shop upstairs and by providing space and referral services for women in crisis. There is no prejudice, no judgement at Chameleon, it is a community hub for anyone who walks through our doors, any nationality, any background, the more left field the better.

HAIR SALON

We provide all aspects of hairdressing services to women, children and men including cuts, styling, balayage, colour ranging from every day to what we fondly refer to as “extreme hair”

We are a speciality Luminart Salon with Broni currently the Luminart Colour Tech in Queensland. Her role takes her to numerous locations around the Gold Coast facilitating training sessions to other Salons.

Here at Chameleon we have a fabulous reputation for bright colours using mainly Pravana products. These colour sensations range from galaxy, the dye, mermaid or shades of silver, whatever is trending we are the leaders in colour alchemy.

We are the only salon on the Gold Coast to provide dreadlocks, dread maintenance, corn rows, braiding and hair wraps. We cater to all members of our community regardless of what your hair creations are.  We are also the only salon on the Gold Coast to cater to specific cultural requirements having screening available for hair salon clients.

Chameleon has the best reputation on the Gold Coast for head massage during shampoos. Our girls are trained in therapeutic head massage providing you with a full relaxation experience while you are laying in a full recliner seats at the basin.

Here at Chameleon New Age Salon we use Algologie products in all our facial treatments. Sourced from the Pen Lan Peninsula in Brittany on the north coast of France, the climate and water is optimal for the growth and life of seaweed, the basis for the majority of Algologie’s skin care products. The original source of life on earth, sea water is rich in 96 minerals and trace elements essential for the proper functioning of our body and in particular our skin. However we must provide them to our body, as we are unable to product them on our own.

Beauty treatments are tailored to the individual with follow up appointments where necessary for problematic issues or the option of purchasing treatment packages. Professional advice is provided in relation to long-term skin care regimes with a range of Algologie products available for purchase to ensure consistency in treatment after your visit.

ANGELIC SHAMANIC HEALINGS

AURA PHOTOGRAPHY

An aura photo is produced by a bio-feedback imaging system which scans the energy of the hands. This information passes to a computer program, which creates colours around a persons image on a professional instant film.

The subject of the aura photo sits in front of a black background to crate the contrast for the colours to be most clearly visible on the photograph. As with any photograph you are looing at a reversed image of yourself. Therefore your right hand side appears on the photo’s left hand side and vice versa.

Colour Interpretations

Right Side: The colour on your right side (the photo’s left side) is traditionally the energy being expressed. It is what you are putting out to the world.
Centre: The colour over your head is what you experience for yourself. It’s the colour that would best describe you at present.

Left Side: The colour on your left side (the photo’s right side) is normally the vibration coming into your life. The closer it is to you the sooner it may be felt.
