Remedial Massage
This form of therapy stetches muscles, inhibits muscle spasm, helping the body manage pain, correct postural & biomechanical dysfunctions increasing flexibility and breaking down scar tissue. Using a combination of techniques such as; deep tissue massage, muscle energy technique, positional release, myofascial release and trigger point therapy. This helps stimulate blood supply to damaged muscles and joints, which can help remove toxins that have built up.
Myofascial Cupping
A traditional remedy, using a small flame to create a vacuum for static and sliding glass cups. This technique has been around since ancient times. It is very effective when used in conjunction with massage to redistribute energy and increase circulation to the local area. Reducing muscle tension, trigger points promote relaxation, therefore reducing pain. Cupping helps draw out pathogenic factors reducing the common cold/flu and chest congestions.
Swedish Massage
Long firm, flowing strokes effectively managing stress, anxiety, tension, headaches and depression. Swedish massage stimulates mind and body, promoting an overall sense of wellbeing.
Sports Massage
For peak mind and body performance in pre or post events. Sports massage is used by athletes at all levels to help prevent breakdown and injury. It is also used to help prevent an excessive build-up of scar tissue following an injury and can stretch specific localised areas of soft tissue in a way that may not be possible with exercise. A combination of massage and stretching techniques aimed at preventing injuries to muscles, tendons and ligaments. This type of massage incorporates remedial techniques and is ideal for those who prefer a firmer touch.
Pregnancy Massage
For your comfort and enjoyment, we use a specially designed pregnancy support cushion, allowing you to lie face down during the massage while giving support to your whole body. Experience total relaxation, bringing comfort and renewed energy.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
MLD is a light touch massage with directional flowing techniques that specifically assists pumping of the lymphatic system to drain the body’s excess fluid aiding the function of the immune system. Preventing or eliminating waste products in the body’s soft tissues. It is ideal for clients who present with water retention, pre/post surgery and post injury.
