Hi, my name is Brigid and I am a highly experienced, professional Therapist specialising in my chosen field.

I have been in the health industry for many years, starting off as a Registered Nurse while living in Sydney, fresh out of school. I found the whole hospital system very uninspiring and not conducive to people being able to heal, so after several years of nursing in major hospitals I did a course in Remedial Massage, wanting to spend more one-on-one time with the person who isn’t feeling well, as opposed to the fleeting presence we can give while nursing. I then wandered into the marvellous world of Bowen Therapy (via Reiki and Flower Essences).

My interests have always been in the natural health field, it just makes sense to me – what we eat, how we think and move, what we do in our lives all affect the way we feel – dramatically.

Facing our fears, big or little , whether its jumping out of a plane, climbing a mountain or removing chocolate from our diet, its a huge and powerful catalyst for change. Knowing that we want to change, trying to do it and succeeding in doing it will give us the strength to achieve more, feel better about ourselves and know there’s nothing we can’t do.

It gives the courage to take the next step.

This understanding can be used in every sense including understanding why we have pain or discomfort in the body or mind.

So what I do is help people to understand their limits, help them to step through them and achieve the things they thought were impossible, utilising Bowen Therapy, Natural Therapies and Flower Essences and always empathy and lots of listening.

Services

Relaxation Massage :

there are times Relaxation Massage is required mainly for stress situations or chronic illness, this incorporates gentle, long flowing strokes to establish a sense of total relaxation.

Pregnancy Massage:

I provide a special pregnancy cushion to allow the mother to be to lie comfortably on her stomach up to the last month or so, depending on her comfort levels. This is a position our pregnant mums enjoy greatly as it allows them to be Massaged easily on their back and buttocks thereby easing the areas of pain easily. Towards the end of the pregnancy the cushion can be used to lie on but on her side, once again feeling fully supported and nurtured during the whole treatment.is a combination of Swedish and Remedial Massage to ease the discomfort of swollen feet and legs, back pain, Massage also helps insomnia as well as soothing the nervous system. I would be inclined to say Pregnancy Massage is a very important part of the prenatal experience and its also a good idea to have some Bowen Therapyduring this time as well.

 Remedial Massage:

is performed while lying on a massage table using oils to deeply massage the entire body to find the source of the problem and in doing so relaxing area of your body you didn’t even know were tense. Remedial Massage is done to the requirements of the person being massaged, some people prefer a gentler approach and this works equally as well.

The key benefits of Remedial Massage are the calming of the peripheral nervous system to calm pain and discomfort,, stimulation of the blood supply to assist in removing toxins built up in the body and an easing of stiffness and tension is usually experienced during the session.
