How does the Laser Tattoo Removal Process work?

Initial Consultation

Upon making an appointment with Disappear Ink, you’ll receive a FREE comprehensive consultation with one of our experts to determine the best approach to achieve the fading or removal results you want for your tattoo from Disappear Ink.

Treatment Preparation

Once the best course of action is agreed upon, the treatment area will be prepared using a Zimmer Cryo6 Cold Air Device. This device is used before, during and after laser tattoo removal treatment to maintain skin comfort and minimise pain during treatment. Should you require additional and extended pain relief, we can offer at an additional cost, Topical Dermal Anaesthetic Cream in addition to the standard cooling method of the Zimmer Cryo6 Cold Air Device.

Laser Treatment

The Quanta Q-Plus C laser is then calibrated for maximum efficacy with minimum discomfort. Laser Tattoo Removal does NOT burn the skin. The Q-Plus C laser sends a focused pulse of laser energy into the upper layer of the skin, causing the ink to shatter into smaller, micro-particles, which are able to pass through the skin naturally, gradually dissolving and fading the tattoo. In order to chart your treatment progress, photographs are taken at each treatment.

Treatment After-Care

Upon completion of the laser tattoo removal treatment, the treated site is cooled further using the Zimmer Cryo6 Cold Air Device and your clinician will further explain the After-Care instructions to ensure the best results possible.

Your Next Appointment

The next appointment is then scheduled for 6 or more weeks later. This allows the skin to recover perfectly from the laser tattoo removal treatment. This gives plenty of time for your body’s lymphatic system to remove the shattered micro-particles of ink. Treatments can be made at longer intervals if required, just not earlier as it doesn’t ‘speed-up’ fading. For the best fading results, simply follow our Tips on Improving Your Fading
