We specialise in Dread Artistry…..including the creation and maintenance of funky looking Dreadlocks.

We can make New Dreadlocks from your own hair, install Dreadlock extensions for extra length or cover bald spots, or even add synthetic extensions for extra volume and colour.

We offer a Dreadlock Maintenance and repair service which is necessary for clean, tidy looking locks, or if you are off to a special event.

We use crochet hook method

The studio stocks a range of hand crafted Dreadlock Jewellery and beads. Along with a range of Cruelty Free and Vegan Friendly Dreadlock Shampoos, Soaps and Sprays.​

Our mobile djembe school delivers African Drumming workshops in your local area to schools, community groups, mental health groups and businesses. We have been privileged to work with a range of organisations, large and small, Educational Establishments, Charities, Private and Public Sector.

​Drumming Jo has been teaching African style Drumming Internationally to children in hundreds of schools around the UK since 2002.

She was the Djembe Tutor for Plymouth Music Services UK and also trained with Village Music Circles CA. “Drumming is easy to learn and teach but most importantly it is FUN!

My workshops are designed to be enjoyable and help build confidence around playing the drums with others, to help with physical coordination, learn to follow direction and feel a little unity when playing together.

I first experienced the drum in Senegal as a teenager whilst studying for my degree and kept drumming as a hobby, learning from my friends until I started working in the community in 2000, drumming and singing with Womens groups, Cancer Groups, Special Needs and Mental health Groups, not just teaching African and Brazilian Rhythms but facilitating free form Drum Circles.

My favourite part is watching the faces of a group of people who are of common mind and purpose come together and harmonize with each other through singing and drumming, it creates a wonderful force that solidifies the group.

We are natural creators and get so many benefits from drumming in a group and being allowed to make lots of noise and find our own heart beat.

The beauty of the drum is that you don’t have to be a “drummer” to play one! You don’t need to read music either.
