Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, drug-free medical treatments that has been practiced in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years. It works on the bodies’ energy (Qi) through a complex system of energy pathways (Jing Luo). The Qi circulates throughout the body, reaching every bodily tissues and organs. When Qi flows freely, the body is balanced and health prevails. If Qi becomes blocked, stagnated, or weakened, it can result in physical, mental, or emotional illness.
Acupuncture uses a variety of techniques. Very fine needles are inserted through the skin to varying depths at Acu-points to stimulate or balance Qi and affect therapeutic responses in the body. Other techniques include using heat (moxibustion), pressure, suction (cupping), or impulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate the Acu-points
Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage is an essential component of Integrated Wellness. The massage we offer at Integrated Wellness is geared specifically to the improvement of chronic pain, injuries, reduced range of motion, inflammation, muscle strains and spasms, and poor circulation. This work has the proven secondary effect of enhancing immune function.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the use of plant and herb extracts for their therapeutic value. Most plants contain and produce chemical substances that aid in healing and other physical treatments.
Herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of healing and aiding the human body and mind and eliminating or alleviating human suffering. Hippocrates, one of the most famous philosophers and earliest proponents of natural medicine and herbal healing, believed that humans were meant to live in harmony with nature, and that nature itself prescribed cures and antidotes for human ailments – we just had to find out through trial and error which of nature’s plants were the best choices to heal various human illnesses of the mind and body.
