Owner, Desirae, has been a Hairdresser for 12 years and Make up Artist for 7 years. Some of her credits include, Apprentice of the Year ’99, her hairdressing and make-up work featured in Australian edition of Marie Claire magazine and Tattooed Down-under magazine. After working in St Kilda’s busy Acland St, Desirae worked alongside local artists and photographers building a portfolio displaying a natural talent in a vast array of styles from Gothic, Rockabilly, down to a child’s first hair cut. She loves Hairdressing and Make up and it shows with her smiling friendly nature.

“I lost a lot of my hair due to a stressful pregnancy and birth of a 9wk early premmi who is now a healthy 2yo. It has taken those 2 years to finally get my hair to grow back and I am uncomfortable with the short length as I my whole life I have had very long hair almost down to my bottom. So I was nervous about who to trust with my hair after I recently moved into an apartment next to the beach which is a stones throw from this salon so I strolled over for a look. I liked what I saw and ended up having styled cut with Desirae. I left the salon feeling fresh and relieved that I no longer have to throw my shoulder length bob cut type hair in a daily bun. After being offered coffee and a shampoo I had different length layers put through and a blow dry which left little flicks on the ends and that was exactly what I was wanting. I had the overall length un toughed which was great as I am desperately wanting my long hair back but was lacking style in the mean time. I now love to wear my hair down and feel good again. I will be making this salon my regular from now on as I am very happy with the results and the service was great.”

“Got a cut recently including fringe which was a bit risky given I’d never been there before. Seemed a bit rushed as they were short of staff. My fringe was cut completely blunt- straight across- and same with the rest of my hair. I was not happy at all with the result. Asked for curls after hair was dried off and got a slight wave… Paid a surcharge for paying by eftpos! Won’t be back.”
