The Business had been wholly owned by Rodney from 1992 until July 2009.
Now Rodney Gibson Taxation & Business Consultants Pty Ltd is an independent practice owned by its three Directors – Julie Christiansen, John Clearwater and Rodney Gibson. The company is a registered Tax Agent and continues to provide clients with solutions to various accounting and taxation needs, as the business has done for many years.

Our People

Julie Christiansen M.N.I.A. J.P (Qual) became a qualified accountant through exams linked with years of experience. She and Rodney started working together in the mid 70’s in the Accounts Department of a major legal firm which she left to start a family and returned to work with Rodney in his tax and consulting practice in the late 80’s. The collaboration continues and Julie is now the major shareholder and senior accountant of the firm.

John Clearwater B.Comm has been a refugee from New Zealand for long enough to pronounce “six” properly. John’s New Zealand background included working at senior level in a range of commercial and industrial enterprises in both accounting and management. This continued in Australia in the 80’s with a gradual shift to taxation which has been his exclusive area for over five years and he is now one of the three shareholders in the practice.

George Lim CA became a Chartered Accountant through the articled clerk system with KPMG where he rose to Manager level after working in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. George left KPMG to take on a role as Financial Controller in a large commercial company prior to returning to Australia. We coaxed him out of semi retirement and with our firm he specializes in audits and forensic accounting.

Rodney Gibson B.A. BComm. LLB. CPA. JP(Qual) has been a registered tax agent since 1972 after spending 16 years in manufacturing industry at manager level. His experience includes periods as management consultant, financial manager, tax accountant, financial planner and University lecturer. He claims to work full time but this really only applies to the 42 weeks a year spent in Australia.
