Services

REMEDIAL MASSAGE: Its aim is to return the body to optimal health after pain or injury.  Some of the techniques described below are some examples of what will be practiced during a remedial massage.

DEEP TISSUE: Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  The movement is slower, the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY:   Trigger points (aka knots) are tender spots in muscles that are associated with palpable nodules and are a common cause of pain.  This technique is usually a great way to decrease pain associated from trigger points.

SPORTS MASSAGE:  Is a type of massage that addresses specific needs of athletes/active people using a variety of techniques such as swedish massage, cross-fiber friction, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, etc.  It’s performed before, during or after events, to enhance performance or promote healing after an injury.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE:  A form of massage involving the stretching and manipulation of the tough connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds the body.  Usually done without oil, this technique is excellent to release the fascia.

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE (ART):  Commonly used to treat conditions related to adhesions or scar tissue in overused muscles.  Generally, ART is done by applying pressure to a muscle while it is being stretched.

ACUPUNCTURE:  A system of complimentary medicine in which fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points along lines of energy (meridians), used in the treatment of various physical and mental conditions.

CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE:  Is one of the great herbal medicine traditions of the world with an unbroken  development of more than 2000 years.  It draws on a vast pharmacopoeia of natural substances to create highly potent and effective herbal formulae.
