Shiatsu Therapy is a simple road to health and well being. Shiatsu is a form of body work therapy originating in Japan. It is now practised world wide by a team of passionate and dedicated practitioners.
Using finger pressure along meridians (energy lines) throughout the body and comprehensive diagnostic techniques, a shiatsu treatment is both deeply relaxing and profoudly therapeutic.
In experiencing a deep state of relaxation your body opens up to the subtle shifts and changes the Shiatsu practitioner facilitates by holding and dispersing certain points along the meridians.
You will leave the session feeling energised, deeply rested and breathing more deeply. A Shiatsu treatment creates the space you need for your body and mind to make the shifts that you may have been resisting or not able to find space to do on your own. Shiatsu can prompt big changes in your life if you are at a stage where they need to happen.

Shiatsu is traditionally received lying on a futon mattress whilst wearing loose comfortable clothing (preferably natural fibres). Sessions will last typically for 1hr and longer for the first session which includes a 15/20 min consultation.
A typical session will include pressure, stillness, stretches and visualisation. The nature of the session will depend on the person. Some people need more pressure and dispersing work for tight muscles and some people need more stillness and holding to fill up and re-generate.
