His son Nick Votino now manages Excel Hair and Beauty working side by side with Ralph in salon.

Waxing

All waxing services are performed using premium quality wax to create the highest of standards the beauty industry has to offer.

Choose from Leg waxing, Back wax, Bikini waxing. Eyebrow waxing, Lip and Chin waxing,  Underarm waxing, and Arm waxing.

Our Waxing Tips

Avoid the sun immediately after waxing and wear sun screen; recently waxed areas are prone to hyperpigmentation (permanent darkening of the skin) if exposed to the sun or solarium. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours.

Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours after waxing.

Do not use exfoliating products (AHAs, scrubs, etc) and loofas for at least 24 hours after waxing as they might further irritate your skin.

Avoid tight clothing after waxing, especially in the waxed areas. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs.

Regular twice to three times per week exfoliation is helpful to remove dead skin so your hairs can get out above the surface of the pores and not become ingrown.

No hot baths, hot showers or sexual activity for 10 hours after a Brazilian. While your pores are open, they are vulnerable to irritation by the extreme temperatures and infection by bacteria.

Moisturise with a tee tree or lavender lotion after every shower, this has a soothing healing, and antibacterial effect. If using an ingrown solution, use this alone until the in growns and redness is minimised, then return to the lotion for maintaining your bikini area.

Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimise irritation.

EYELASH AND EYEBROW TINTING

The colour lasts up to 6 weeks. During this period new eyelashes and eyebrows grow and should be tinted again. The best results are achieved when applying the tint regularly, because with each tint application the colour will penetrate deeply into the eyelashes leaving them more intensely and durably coloured.

Spray Tans

Enriched with Aloe Vera to nourish and hydrate the skin. A 10-minute salon treatment – it rapidly develops a natural gorgeous tan you can wash and be ready in only 2hrs.

Before Spray Tanning

Any shaving, waxing & exfoliating should be done prior to your appointment (if your appointment is in the morning, do the night before). Pay attention to rough skin areas like knees, elbows, ankles and the tops of your toes. DO NOT apply moisturiser to your skin at this stage as doing this will reduce the final result. We also recommend that you don’t wear any make-up or deodorant

After Spray Tanning

Once your tan is applied, you must allow it to dry completely. We will ensure that your application is dry before you leave, but as a precaution, do not wet your skin for at least 2hrs after the Spray Tanning session. We also recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase.

When showering don’t be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off. This is part of the tanning process. Your skin will continue to tan. Other considerations to maintaining your tan are to avoid long baths, hot spas and extended swimming sessions. Shorter sessions are preferable. Also avoid products that are designed to exfoliate your skin.

Skin: If you feel you have highly sensitive skin, or you have any doubts, we recommend a small localised test spray. Please allow 24hrs to check your skin compatibility.
