Ear piercing

Studex uses only surgical steel that is manufactured to a specification that does not allow nickel release, thus stopping nickel allergies like nickel dermatitis.
Titanium is a very pure metal not containing nickel.

Nose piercing that is performed with a nose piercing instrument is usually done with titanium because it is pure and is a very strong metal.

Tongue Piercing

Tongue piercing is done with 316L surgical stainless steel or titanium. Acrylics should not be used for initial tongue piercing as the acrylic cannot withstand the heat of the autoclave so cannot be sterilised correctly. Tongue piercing must always be performed with a sterilised needle

Jewellery Styles

Ear

Most ear piercing studs have a 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm or 8mm head and have a 10mm post. The most popular style of jewellery is the bezel stud. Claw or tiffany styles can also be used.  Usually 16g to 20g
Nose

Nose studs can be straight with a wedge shaped end, have a bent tail, “L” shape or straight.  Usually 16g, 18g or 20g in 6mm or 8mm length.
