Course Summary:

All of the units are designed to train you to safely offer body piercing in a professional clinic and have a thorough understanding of sterilisation and cross-contamination issues.

With this qualification you can seek employment in any health field or set up your own practice in body piercing.

Pre-requisites: 

HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support (Level 1 First Aid) or higher.

Course content: 

There is extensive pre and post contact reading and assignments to be completed as well as compulsory attendance at the five days of face to face contact training time. You will be required to research and have knowledge of State legislation and regulations relevant to the State you are working in.

Research, multiple choice and short answer assessment questions.
Demonstration of skills and knowledge – four (4) practical observations of piercing, including 1 micro dermal piercing

Course Title: Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments

Course Summary:

This unit is offered to those in need of skills and knowledge relating to Health Care, Infection Control Standards and Practice, Policies, Procedures and controlling Regulations.

Safety issues relating to Client Management, Record Keeping, Sterilisation and Safe Personal Clinic Practice are also studied. The course requires analysis and verification of workplace practice.

There are no re-requisites for this course.

Course content: 

The course includes eight elements of study relating to Infection Control, Clinic Practice and Records, Personal Safety, Occupational/Workplace Health & Safety Issues, Sterilisation and Waste Management.

Cosmetic Tattooing also known as permanent make-up has increased rapidly in recent years as more and more women seek to enhance their natural features with less fuss. Cosmetic tattooing is most commonly used to define eyebrows, define and bold eyeliner, enhance lip liner.

This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to penetrate the skin to apply pigments in order to achieve cosmetic tattoos on the face and body.

Whether you make cosmetic tattooing your sole career or combine it with your current profession, this course will provide you with the skills and confidence to meet your customer’s needs and expectations.

YOU WILL LEARN

Understand and define cosmetic tattooing

Anatomy & Physiology for cosmetic tattooing

Perform patch test and perform cosmetic tattooing service including how to perform permanent eyebrow,

Eyeliner and lip line procedures

Review treatment and provide post treatment advice

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

To undertake this qualification you must hold SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy, have a Nurse or Health or Beauty Related background or have completed the following prerequisite units:

SIBBCCS404A – Work in a skin therapies framework

SIBBCCS406A – Use electricity in beauty therapy treatments

SIBBSSS407A – Interpret the chemical composition and physical action of cosmetic products
