“Having just relocated from Perth to Melbourne, I walked into Fancy Nails to get a long overdue shellac pedicure and manicure. I was quoted $90 which not only was more expensive than most, they asked if I had my last manicure and pedicure done there. I responded no as I had just relocated to Melbourne from Perth. They then told me that it would cost $10 more to remove my old nail polish as it was not done there! This is simply unheard of! I could understand and would totally agree that it would be reasonable that I be charged if all I wanted was to have my polish removed but I was going to spend $90 to have my nails done! I tried talking them out of it but they insisted that I would have to pay the extra. Needless to say, they didn’t get my business as they were too stupid to choose to do $90 worth of business than to give a potential regular new customer $10 off. I walked a block down to Bourke St and found another busier and bigger nail salon and had my pedicure and manicure done straight away and perfectly for less than $90. And by the way, have I mentioned that there was no only one other customer at Fancy Nails when I walked into the shop at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon? Not surprising I supposed.”

They have a good selection of colours and I always leave looking and feeling fabulous. I have been going the Fancy Nails for many years and the manager always treats me well.”

“I have been going to Fancy Nails on a regular basis for the past 3 years or so. Basically, if you want efficient, professional results and a reasonably priced service for manicure/pedicure, without the fluff, this is your place! This salon is NOT a place to go to feel pampered and fussed over – you go elsewhere for that (and pay more for the privilege). I have always found the young girls (and the owner/manager) here pleasant. I keep going back to them because they are efficient, affordable and really good at what they do. I will gladly continue to get change out of $50 for a great mani/pedi there, and be in and out in just over an hour. I have recently been getting shellac manicures for $45 that last me 4 weeks! I used a birthday voucher for a ‘deluxe’ mani/pedi at a major reputable hotel day spa last year that was valued at $240. I was expecting a wonderfully indulgent and relaxing experience with fabulous results instead it was a waste of 3 hours of my life!. Over the years I have tried lots of different nail bars, salons and spas (including overseas), but Fancy Nails continues to get my ongoing business and my vote for a no-frills reliable and consistent ‘cheap n efficient’ service.”
