Thank you for taking the time…

My name is Chris Fehres, and through Fehresian Energetics my mission is to help people reach their optimum level of health in order to live life to its full potential.

One of my primary avenues for this is through acupuncture and assisting people heal from physical pain in order to reach their full potential in life.

Having completed a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in acupuncture from Endeavour College of Natural Health in 2015, I graduated with distinction and was awarded the medal of academic excellence for highest achievement in acupuncture across Australia.

I have always had a passion for the inner workings of the human body, and I currently direct my focus to the ongoing study of human anatomy and biology and how these systems are influenced by acupuncture.

While I am capable of treating a wide range of conditions with acupuncture, my passion is treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

I find this organic machine that we inhabit to be incredibly fascinating and can provide us with more answers to solutions in our own lives than we give it credit for.

Pain is also one of the body’s most valuable mechanisms for making us aware of the imbalance in our lives.

So while I may focus a great deal on the physical manifestation of pain, I also delve into the possibility that the origins of our certain pains may in fact lay in other, seemingly unrelated areas of our lives that we are choosing not to address.

As my aim is to determine and treat the root of the physical ailment, quite often these can be manifestations of aspects of our emotions that we have chosen not to deal with on some level. I will never cease to be amazed by the human body and all of it’s facets.

Following a decade-long career as a professional musician with which I was fortunate enough to travel the world, I returned home to Brisbane to follow my passion for healing and helping people through natural medicine.

With a long-standing history as a martial artist, I am also an instructor of Chen Style Tai Qi.

Under the tutelage of Master Tim Yuen of the World Chen Style Taijichuan Academy of Australia, Tai Chi provides me with a strong balance of fitness and meditation through movement to complement my work as an acupuncturist.

As well as having an understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I have been a student of shamanic practices now for almost 15 years and I also practice energetic healing and dream interpretation.

Recently I culminated my knowledge of physical and spiritual practices into Yahrundana – The Sacred Healing Retreat, which was held in June earlier this year.

This was a unique, spiritually focused weekend retreat with the purpose of assisting people to awaken to their full potential and become the very best version of themselves.

It consisted of an intensive weekend program of exercise, meditation, music therapy, martial arts, performance and human connection.

As we move more into the modern age, there is now more than ever a necessity to draw on knowledge of the past and incorporate it into today’s practices in order to obtain the best results for health and well being.

Some members of the medical science community attempt to debunk acupuncture and avenues of natural medicine despite all of the available proof and positive outcomes; yet many natural medicine practitioners have the same opinions of Western medical science despite all of the good it continues to do.

From my own life’s experience, I would not be alive today if not for medical science, yet for day-to- day maintenance, health and well being, I attribute this to acupuncture and natural medicine, exercise and a healthy diet.

All types of medicines have their place, and as long as you find a practitioner with your best interests at heart, you are in the right hands.

If the medicine is sound and the intention of the practitioner is pure, then healing will surely follow.

I thank you very much for taking the time to explore this website and learning more about me. If you have any questions that I may be able to answer, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help.

I very much look forward to meeting you and having the chance to help you heal.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an effective form of integrated, modern healthcare based on over 2,000 years of tradition, practice, and empirical evidence. It has been the focus of a great number of clinical trials in recent decades to determine its efficacy and mechanisms with both promising and surprising results.

With this research, modern medical science is now finding ways to explain the physiological mechanisms that are activated during a treatment, as well as the healing effects it has on the body.

For many years acupuncture has been shrouded in mystery for the Western world.

Yet with the physiological processes now being explained, we are learning more about how the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concept of ‘Qi’ (vital force) translates to the bio-mechanical processes of the human body.

In TCM, pain and disease arise when there is a blockage of either Qi or blood in the organs or meridians.

With the use of fine, filiform acupuncture needles, acupuncturists manipulate the flow of Qi and blood within the meridians in order to promote a smooth flow of these vital substances.

Acupuncture addresses both the symptoms and cause of disease by promoting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

While the modern version of acupuncture and its applications are somewhat different today, this unique form of natural medicine has its roots in a tradition that is believed to be up to 5,000 years old.

While the needles used today are machine-manufactured with precision from surgical steel, our method of healing still relies on the time-honoured principles of maintaining a balance of Qi (Chi) and Blood, Yin and Yang in the body.

Since modern medicine has shed scientific light on these ancient concepts, we now have a better understanding through the study of human physiology.

Qi can be likened to our energy levels, metabolism and nervous system; Blood is monitored by our cardiovascular system; and even Yin and Yang have their comparisons within the autonomic nervous system that controls our cycles of activity and rest.

Using the wisdom of the past and combining it with the knowledge of the present day, acupuncture practitioners of today now have the best of both schools of thought in order to provide the most effective treatment results for their patients.

From a Western medical point of view, acupuncture assists the body in the following ways –

Releases chemical mediators and neurotransmitters such as oxytocin, endorphins, and dopamine. This provides pain relief, boosts immunity and energy levels, and improves mood and general well-being.

Dilates blood vessels and increases blood supply, thereby enriching cells with oxygen and nutrients and helping these areas to recover quicker from trauma or injury.

Resets muscle tension frequencies in muscle fibres to relieve muscle pain, tightness, or spasms.

Directly stimulates the nervous system by activating nerve fibres through proprioceptors and nociceptors in the skin and flesh which connect to the central nervous system.

Directly influences the body’s expansive connective tissue network, or fascia, causing a stretch effect which then stimulates the release of a cascade of substances within the body.

This provides pain relief, a reduction in inflammation and an increase in tissue remodelling.
