With over 30 years in the hairdressing industry, it was time to realise my life goal and set up a training academy with a difference and to give back to this dynamic industry.  I believe it is vital we do more to encourage young people to embrace hairdressing as their career choice. I believe together we need to do more to counteract the current skills shortage in order to shape our future hairdressing stars. With the passion I’m renowned for, I’ve often been described as a devil’s advocate. I’ve earned this reputation through constantly pushing boundaries and questioning our industry direction.  Yet my peers also describe me as a visionary, a creator, an inventor and leading educator.

When embarking on the academy project, our market research demonstrated the necessity for variety in a student’s development.  In other words, we had to account for individual student needs.  We also had to carefully consider the type of tools and resources required to deliver quality training and as a professional educational facility, we created the systems, policies and procedures based on over 30 years of experience to make sure they meet the professional standards of the hairdressing industry.

Francapelli academy is a boutique orientated training provider that offers small class sizes with more Educators to meet an ever increasing demand for one-on-one training and to ensure students get maximum course benefit and salons receive maximum productivity from their apprentice. Upon entry to the academy each student undergoes a Pre-Training Review to determine their skill level and exact learning needs. Our training format is purely evidence based in that each student is constantly evaluated and monitored before progressing. With this procedure the academy is able to provide better outcomes and sustain the overall industry standard.

As a 21st century training provider, francapelli academy is committed to the betterment of practical and theory systems as demonstrated throughout our Training Policy structure.  Our Educators are highly skilled and passionate and selected not only for their expert hairdressing knowledge but also for their ability to communicate and teach effectively. We know with the right attitude, approach, focus and direction, anything is possible. “I had my hair done today by Lauren, and it’s the best colour I’ve had in a very long time! A previous salon completely ruined my hair and over charged me, to which I walked away really unhappy with what had been done. I left the academy after two weeks due to being treated rotten by one of the teachers and by the principal. For a scholarship, I’m suprised I had to pay $400 or so for tuition fees. Biggest waste of money! Also got made to stay back one hour due to me being late just one day due to trains being late. Not my fault! I leave home 3 hours before I’m due to start school/work so it’s not my fault that sonetimes the trains do not run on time. Have a bit of compassion! I had to clean your walls filled with sticky crap on them. Don’t you employ cleaners?”
