Specializing in consultations, cutting, razor cutting, colouring, foiling, straight or body blow waves, hair ups, perming and chemical straightening and we are the home of award-winning hair extensions.

In 1976 Frank began his apprenticeship as a barber in a small shop in Floreat Forum known as “Eric and Luigi’s Barber Shop”.

1985 was a huge year for Frank when he married Rose who not only became his wife but also long term partner. Together they bought their first home and took over the barbershop that Frank had grown to love and so started Frank Basile Hair Stylist.

The year 2001 was the beginning of a new era for Frank and Rose as Floreat Forum was undergoing major renovations and they made a bold decision that would rock their whole world.

Frank Basile Hair Stylist moved out of the Forum to Birkdale Street, Floreat and Frank’s first unisex salon was launched and so began “Frank Basile For Hair”.

Frank’s Floreat salon (Head Office) is very unique, as barbering is where Frank began and is his forte so the salon has a Men’s Barber section with 4 full time male barbers.

Frank’s boys have an abundance of experience and can cater from a child’s first cut to the elderly gentleman. They are constantly kept up to date with all the latest styles and products and can recommend any treatments, colours and products you may require.

On the other side of the salon there is our unisex team led by multi award winning stylist Matt Basile.

The Floreat salon are known as ‘the wild ones’ because they are loud and love to break the rules but are also an incredible, talented team who can work with anything from problem hair to creating an amazing new look for you.

In 2006 Frank and Rose purchased their Kingsley salon, led by multi award winning Sabina and her partner in crime Samantha.

The Kingsley multi award winning team are known as ‘the dream team’ because they make the impossible happen!

In 2008 Frank and Rose purchased the Applecross salon led by multi award winning Deborah and her amazing team who complete the Frank Basile family.

The Frank Basile team are always kept in touch with the latest colour training and recently extended their Balayage knowledge with new techniques, also advanced cutting trading classes and ball / bridal hair classes. Frank Basile also have our own Japanese hair straightening specialist multi award winner Tony Basile who retrains every year to keep up to date with the latest products and technique.

Frank Basile have their own hair extension company called Summer Locks Hair Extensions. Our extensions are AAA grade 100% Indian human remy hair. Remy hair all cuticle runs in one direction, making the extensions smooth and natural looking and is the highest quality hair extension that looks closest to natural hair. It can be styled in the same way that hair is, with heat etc. Our clip-ins are beautifully packaged with 8 pieces inside.

Late in ’08, Frank was approached by a Chinese designer of quality human hair extensions to share a new product with Australia. This exciting offer (which involved a research trip to China by Frank and Rose!) lead to the creation of Summer Locks.

Frank has carefully designed a fabulous range of hair colours, with essential input from Matt and the rest of the Summer Locks Hair Extensions Team.

FBFH is the home of the multi-award winning hair stylist! Matt Basile was awarded “Hair Extentionist of the Year” in 2008. It’s easy to see why!

Summer Locks is simply an extension to the FBFH family! Frank named Summer Locks after his first grandchild Summer Rose Basile and the brand logo was created by his god-daughter Alana Notte.

Frank is an exceptional leader and a very family-orientated gentleman who works hard to keep the FBFH Team working as one professionally-focussed and positive family.
