As the founder of French Faces by Elena and Male Waxing of Kensington, I would like to share my story with you. In the late eighties, I began and completed my study in my Diploma of Beauty Therapy in Europe, including some training in Paris. I specialised in acne treatments and problem skin, with particular emphasis on helping skin recover its health. Today, we specialise in advanced skin treatments, utilising prestigious and certified organic products such as Thalgo and Sothys.

After I migrated to Australia in 1992, I established French Faces by Elena & Male Waxing of Kensington, which offers a tranquil, relaxing environment for both male and female beauty treatments.

Since then, my salon has grown to be one of the most successful and respected skin care salons in Kensington Park, Adelaide. I have several clients who have been with me since I opened my salon doors 20 years ago.

My clients have shown me this remarkable loyalty because they recognise that I will always do the best thing for their skin. I believe that it is extremely important to read the skin and to recommend products and treatments that are what your skin needs at that time. It is not enough to buy a ‘brand’ and it doesn’t have to do with how much money you spend. It’s about getting the right match for how your skin is feeling at the time.

I am very proud of what I have been able to do for my clients. Many come in with problem skin, after they have tried harsh pimple creams (e.g. benzoyl peroxide) and acne drugs, which can ultimately block the skin’s exocrine system, prematurely age skin and cause a lot of damage. These same clients walk away from relaxing facials and appropriately chosen skin product regimes with skin so healthy, they barely recognize it as their own.
