Gekko Hair Salon

My humble career began 32 years ago at a small local salon in East Doncaster where I began my apprenticehip at 15 years old.

After I had completed my training, I began work in Eltham where I managed the salon for 3 years.

After another change of scenary I found myself back in East Doncaster working for an old colleague.

The years that followed included 2 kids, nights spent at hair training courses refining my skills and part-time work.

This ensured I was always kept close to my profession and love of hair.

Fast forward to 2003 and I found myself establishing a business in Lower Templestowe.

After 18 months I made the move back home to East Doncaster and Gekko was born.

I’ve never considered my profession to be a job.

When you find something you love just as much as I love hairdressing, you never work a day in your life.

My days are spent with my team researching current trends and new techniques, ensuring our loyal clients are always kept on trend.
