Tony Timms – Chief Operating Officer

Tony’s background in business management and ownership has brought a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to Get Smart Hair and Beauty.

Tony’s career highlights to date include 7 years of experience on the senior management team at Eastcoast Development Engineering, concurrent retail management of 5 Mobile Petrol Stations, ownership of 2 Pubs and managing and marketing his own band as a professional musician. All of this might seem a million miles away from hair and beauty; however Tony brings a vast amount of experience and fresh perspectives to the Get Smart Hair and Beauty Team.

As COO Tony is responsible for operational efficiency and financial management.

Jan Timms – Chief Executive Officer

Jan started her career as a hairdresser before venturing down a career path of sales, marketing, and senior management in both the commercial and franchising sectors. She has now come full circle back into hairdressing as the CEO of Get Smart Hair and Beauty.

Jan commenced her apprentice as a hairdresser in the UK with Roberto of Milan and then went on to pursue a career in sales and later established her first business in Manchester, England at the tender young age of 23! 4 years on, she sold the business as a successful going concern (it is still trading 30 years later) and set off on the overland route to Australia. 1½ years later she arrived in Melbourne to become a much sought after and successful salesperson before progressing her career into sales and marketing management and later general management of a 40 plus employee business. During this period Jan also gave birth to her two children and undertook a Masters of Management at Monash University.

Jan’s career in Franchising includes over 5 years with Snap Franchising as People Development Manager where she also undertook a Post Graduate Diploma in and 6 years with Worldwide Printing Solutions as National Training Manager and later National Marketing Manager. In 2011 Jan established Get Smart Services to provide training and business support services to the Franchising Sector.
