Services

relaxation massage

Perfect for those with a busy and stressful lifestyle. This treatment incorporates Swedish massage techniques which uses long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. A gentle massage that goes beyond relaxation as it increases circulation & removes metabolic waste.

deep tissue massage

This is a strong massage used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. This invigorating experience is a process of detection of tight or painful areas and slowly working into the deep layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Great for chronic pain sufferers of neck, back and shoulders. A regular one hour deep tissue massage works wonders for stiffness of the joints and poor flexibility.

remedial massage

This massage is beneficial for everyone ranging from the elite athlete to the office worker. It’s tailored to your specific sport or body type by focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive movements. A variety of techniques may be used during this treatment including Swedish, deep tissue and stretching depending on the individual. It will help alleviate headaches, neck and lower back problems, sciatic pain and postural tension. For athletes it also helps improve recovery from training and treats common overuse injuries. Let our experienced therapists tailor a treatment especially for you.

reflexology

Reflexology is based on the principle that the foot has “reflex” points that correspond to various structures and organs through your body.  It is a healing process that can be safely used when it is not convenient to treat other body parts.  A Reflexology treatment can facilitate relief for: stress, digestive disorders, menopausal symptoms, migraines, pre-menstrual syndrome and other menstrual irregularities and back and neck pain.

pregnancy massage

Massage can ease a lot of discomfort pregnancy can bring such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and oedema (or swelling). In addition, massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Our therapists take extra care to ensure our prenatal clients are comfortable. Sideline positioning with supportive pillows are used which alleviates the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas. Women with normal pregnancies can benefit greatly from this treatment after their first trimester up to their final weeks before giving birth.

trigger point therapy

Trigger points are described as hyper-irritable spots in muscle tissue that refer pain to other parts of the body. Your therapist deactivates these points and elongates the structures affected. The results and benefits of trigger point massage are releasing constricted areas in the muscles thus alleviating pain. Receiving massage with trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries while increasing range of motion, flexibility and circulation.

sports massage

Sports massage is designed to prevent and relieve injuries and conditions that are associated with exercise.  It can be carried out before or after an event and uses techniques that are designed to increase endurance and performance and reduce recovery times.  Sports massage is not only utilised by professional sportspeople or people that exercise heavily, it is also beneficial for the weekend warriors.  It is beneficial in treating injures such as shin splints, tennis elbows, sprains and strains and corked thighs.

modern cupping therapy

This is a “no-flame-required” form of cupping therapy. The therapist uses silicone cups and places them on areas of discomfort or glides them along the muscles. The vacuum-like effect helps to loosen constricted tissue fibres, promotes circulation, increases metabolic uptake which eliminates pain.

oncology massage

Oncology massage is used in combination with conventional cancer treatments. The soft massage techniques aim to treat the whole body not only the symptoms of the disease. It may help to reduce side effects such as pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety and bring reassurance and support. Lymphatic massage techniques are also used to reduce lymphedema after surgery or radiotherapy of the lymph nodes.

osteopathy

Osteopaths seek to achieve good health and a reduction in pain by treating the patient holistically.  This will involve largely hands on techniques including deep tissue massage, soft tissue manipulation, gentle indirect techniques, spinal manipulation, cranial techniques, dry needling, stretching, sports taping or traction.

Osteopathy sessions are available on Tuesdays and Saturdays with Dr. Felicity Marguin. She as been an osteopath since 2004 after completing a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Osteopathy. She is well regarded in the Eastern Suburbs as a capable and caring practitioner.  Felicity may be able to help you or someone you know.

Medicare rebates may be available for patients with chronic conditions. Patients should consult their GP about the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan.

neurokinetic therapy®

NeuroKinetic Therapy® is a corrective movement system that addresses the cause of pain – dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. Pain and restrictions are a sign of the muscles not working optimally. They are compensating for inhibited muscles. NKT retrains the muscles through the nervous system through movement assessment, muscle testing and correctives. Shorts and a t-shirt are best to wear to a session but comfortable and loose clothing is fine.
NKT sessions are available with Jacqueline only.
