Hair Apparent (formerly known as Velvet Blonde) is owned and run by Maureen Rhys-Jones.

Maureen took over the business in 2013 and has since built it into a thriving centre for hair and make-up excellence in the region; doing weddings, hair and make-up for special events and colour, cut and blow-dry maintenance.

Maureen came to the salon with over 30 years experience doing hair and make-up for television.

Most of Australia’s well-known personalities and many politicians, artists and writers that passed through the studios would be familiar with her work.

Her extensive experience results in a hair and make-up artist with an innate sense of how to present you at your best.

Materials, application and art all blend seamlessly on you as the canvas.

Maureen is passionate about passing on her knowledge to others in the industry. She has a small team working with her that she guides and tutors in the work she is so knowledgeable about.
