My Story

I’ve wanted to be a hairdresser for as long as I can remember.

Allegedly, I started cutting hair at age four, when I cut my little sister’s curls off! I’ve come a long way since then, officially starting my career in 1987.

After many years of working for other people, with a few years off in between, to raise a family, I now have my very own salon that I have been able to maintain since 2011.

My Vision

Because of our ever-changing industry, I continuously attend classes and courses as new techniques and ideas are introduced.

At the end of the day, if my clients leave my salon feeling refreshed and happy, then I have achieved my goal.

Hair on Reef is a comfortable and friendly Gympie hair salon, offering complete hair care for women, men and children.

We are cut and colouring experts, using quality salon products to ensure a beautiful result.

Come and relax in the airconditioned comfort of the salon while we pamper you, with a comfortable outdoor sitting area for clients to enjoy a coffee while they are between treatments.

Meredith, who has been hairdressing in Gympie for 28 years, offers a variety of professional services, from stylecuts to colouring in every shade of the rainbow.

Hair on Reef has chemical free colouring products available, which are particularly beneficial for those with scalp sensitivities.

We blow wave, set or straighten your hair and also offer a Formaldehyde-free smoothing treatment, that lasts up to 12 weeks, for clients who suffer from frizzy hair.

And Meredith still perms! For those clients who want to create stunning styles.

Meredith can assist you with gorgeous upstyles for special occasions.

She offers packages for bridal styling, debutante balls, graduations and formals, including beautiful updos, curls and more.

Hair on Reef provides a personal hairstyling experience.

Some of the other services that Hair on Reef offer includes body waxing and and eyelash/eyebrow tinting, as well as makeup application for all occasions.

We use quality salon hair products, including Milk_shake, Affinge, Matrix and Agave.
