With seven staff we are small enough to provide a individualised service and with over 30 years of experience we are able to offer diverse insight and knowledge to all our clients.

Brett Hetherington – Principal

Brett enjoys working with clients directly by providing specific one-on-one advice. His expertise is invaluable to small business.

He commenced his career in accounting in 1985 and prior to starting his own business in 2000 he has worked with progressive practices dealing with small business clients.

Kelly Mapes – Senior Accountant

Kelly’s attention to detail, thoroughness and confidentiality are fundamental to her role at Hetherington & Associates. Kelly is continually updating her knowledge and skills, keeping abreast of new legislation and accounting regulations.

Kelly completed her Bachelor of Business Management with a major in accounting in 2006. During her studies, Kelly worked part-time as an accountant and also as a researcher for Griffith University Accounting Department.

In May 2007, Kelly commenced as an Accountant in the practice. She specialises in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies and trusts. Since joining the firm Kelly has built a repoire with her clients that makes her….

Before her degree, Kelly worked for thirteen years in the retail industry; six of those years were in senior management.

Terry Smith – Accountant

Terry has been a part of the team since July 2012 and is becoming more involved with all aspects of our work. Terry graduated Griffith University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Accounting & Financial Planning and is now working with us full-time.

He is eagerly learning from both Rodney & Kelly whilst helping prepare all the work sent his way, from tax returns, investment property to small business accounts and business activity statements. In the near future he will be commencing further study through the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Zoe Hansen – Client Services Officer

Zoe is the face of the office, being the first to greet our clients either in person or on the phone. She is the newest member to the Hetherington & Associates team and is already fitting in perfectly.

Evelyn Vele – Office Manager

Evelyn’s role as office manager is to support Brett, the owner of Hetherington & Associates with administrative functions, which includes financial processing, making administrative decisions and supervising the office processes.

Bridgitte Nelson – Marketing Manager

Bridgitte originally joined the team as the Administration Assistant for the office in 2009. After 3 years in the role she moved into a Client Service Officer position which has now expanded to marketing manager. Bridgitte takes care of all marketing aspects of the business including advertising, newsletters, website updates, client services and more.
