OUR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS

Our physiotherapists are both postgraduate trained.

Stephen Casey is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. The title of APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist is awarded to physiotherapists who have met the APA’s rigorous professional competency standards in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He completed his physiotherapy training (Bachelor of Applied Science- Physiotherapy) in 1989 at Cumberland College of Health Sciences, Sydney. Further training in Manipulative Physiotherapy (Graduate Diploma of Applied Science- Manipulative Physiotherapy) was completed at Sydney University in 1993. Steve is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia- Titled Member (MPA), the Private Practitioners Group (PPG) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA). Steve has worked as a physiotherapist both in Australia and overseas. Steve has worked as a physiotherapist both here in Australia and overseas, and provided physio coverage for a variety of sporting teams. Steve is the practice principal and head clinician of Hunters Hill Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre and has extensive experience in sports, orthopaedic, spinal and general physiotherapy. With his further training in manipulative physiotherapy, Steve uses advanced clinical assessment and diagnosis methods and has a broader range of treatment techniques than many other health professionals. As a result, Steve is in a great position to improve your mobility, co-ordination, strength and overall fitness level.

Adrian Traeger completed his physiotherapy training in 2007 at Sydney University (Masters of Physiotherapy). He had already completed a Bachelor of Science (Health and Sport Science) with Class 1 Honours in 2005 at University of New South Wales. Adrian is currently working on a PhD through Neuroscience Australia and UNSW and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). His PhD has a focus on lower back pain, and prevention of long term problems. He is particularly interested in the role of exercise in back and neck pain, and why some exercises work for some people, and others do not. Adrian is a keen advocate for evidence-based practice i.e. using research to best guide diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems. In addition to his penchant for science, Adrian is somewhat obsessive about food and loves a good session on the frying pans. He enjoys almost any combination of food, music and wine, with the exception of canned chicken and Rap-Metal. Hunters Hill Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre is very fortunate to have Adrian on staff.
