Michelle is a pathophysiology therapist – what on earth is that you might ask! Pathophysiology is the functional changes associated with or resulting from disease or injury. The principle of my practice is to assist the healing process during and after illness, injury or disease. Basically returning you back to your normal state of being so you are free to live a full life. My story is like that of many who enter the healing career path. After 10 years climbing the corporate ladder in the world of Operations, Logistics and Project Management, getting to the top I found that all that glitters is not gold so to speak! My struggle between my morals, values and integrity vs. that of the corporate environment I was working in was unbearable, at the age of 30 something had to give…. Personally I had been strengthening my meditation practice for many years and had completed Reiki 1, 11, 111 and 111a my teacher and guru Lida Parker at Seventh Ray Centre helped me to get in touch with who I was without playing the role of corporate high flyer. I began my studies at Massage Schools of Queensland after work and weekends, completing Certificate 1v in Massage, inspired by my mentor and teacher Brett Franke I went on to study Remedial Massage…the rest as they say is history! I continued my work in massage moving into the world of Hawaiian Bodywork or KaHuna…an entire life changing journey of its own; I studied at Mette’s Institute and found a whole other world of being, loving and living. I have completed several stages of the KaHuna experience and qualifications I look forward to continuing my journey of peeling back the layers. I went on to study with Endeavour College and worked through my Myofascial Release qualifications 1 & 2, understanding yet again another facet of the human body. After coming up against blocks in study and work in relation to treating those who were terminally ill with cancer and other serious illness I was compelled to learn more…enter Oncology Massage, inspired by personal life events and loss I enrolled in Oncology Massage, again a life changing course, one that would have me confront many emotions, evolving stronger and more focused to make a difference and contribute good to the world via education and treatment. I now hold an OM2 qualification. Currently I am studying my Certificate 1v in Counselling – in my spare time! Michelle provides her services consulting to an elite Health and Lifestyle Retreat when she is not busily working away in the realm of all things Inspire Wellness and Massage. Michelle currently volunteers at several cancer support groups around the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast, giving information on Oncology Massage and delivering relaxation and meditation sessions, if you would like Michelle to come along to your local group please get in contact.
