“Very satisfied customer here! Always great service and Jess is always my preferred hair stylist. All the staff are very friendly and would recommend Jagger’s edge to anyone.”
“I’m a lucky mum because my kids sit still for haircuts and quite enjoy them.
I don’t think hairdressers should have to deal with screaming wriggling children. It’s not safe for the child firstly and secondly I can’t imagine how stressful it is for the stylist.
I think its perfectly acceptable for a hairdresser to suggest the child be brought in another day if they are anxious. It’s then up to the parent to decide what is right for them.
I this it is utterly disgraceful that this business thinks it’s acceptable to charge more for this behaviour.
I also think it’s disgraceful for the person who took this picture to take such an aggressive and public approach to her distaste in the sign. A simple word to the owner in person to explain why the sign might offend people would have been enough, they seem to have enough sense to have been able to make the appropriate changes from that conversation rather than having their businesses name dragged through the mud. Shame of you for doing that. Very unreasonable and dramatic of you.
Gone are the days where people do things for the sake of doing the right thing rather than for attention and theatre.”
“I have never been here I live in Brisbane however I have taken my 6 children for haircuts before they have been ok and then gone nuts! I don’t force them its cruel and dangerous for the child and hairdresser. Parents can help by visiting the hairdresser for the child to have a ride in the chair or their hair brushed and ease them into it. Role play at home and read books about it. Haircuts can be a scary thing for some children and if the children have a meltdown mid haircut the hairdresser deserves to be paid for the extra job it takes to finish the job. The dentist visits the schools and kindergartens to get children ready for a dental check up maybe it’s something hairdressers can branch out into. Thumbs up :)”
“Supporting you 100%!!! The only people with a problem are the ones who haven’t had to cut a screaming child’s hair. It is quite traumatic for not only the child but the hairdresser, especially when the child is jerking around so much that the parents had to hold the chair down with their feet and then the child went to push my hands away and I nearly cut his fingers!! A lot of parents tend to leave the hairdresser to deal with the child like we are suppose to control them when the parents can’t, it’s a joke! Good on you for making a stand!!! I wish you all the success with your salon.”
“I also do hair for a living , I’m happy to hear that someone finally stepped up about this issue! It is very unsafe for the child and the stylist to have such sharp tools around a childs head in that situation. .. our shears are sharpened to razor quality to give the best cut we can and can cause much damage even just by sliding one blade over an area by accident. .. My son is special needs and it has always been a challenge to cut his hair until he was about 8, so I believe if you let your stylist know In advance they will apply more patients.”
